The motel owners are obviously using it for storage for an upcoming landscaping project. The plushy pig is probably a one of their children’s toys. Motels like that are often run by a family.

Wow! Pretty intense! It must’ve been far away too or perhaps the thunder didn’t pickup very well in the recording. Some of that lightning was incredibly high in the atmosphere! I’m jealous. The weather rarely ever does anything remotely that interesting where I live.

Super cool I just found one of these in the woods behind my house. They are not aggressive and she will not sting you. She is using that long stinger looking thing (called an ovipositor) to lay her eggs, which will feed on the larvae of the already deposited horn tailed wasp. The cycle of life and nature at its finest. Nature regulates its own population.

In 1981 I was privileged enough to witness an incredible lightning storm in Las Cruces, New Mexico. It went on for hours. Enormous bolts would rise from the Organ Mountain and arc across the entire sky. Your video reminded me of that It's very beautiful the way it shines through the clouds.
