This will teach you a stronger release!
We all want more revs, higher rev rate and more power. And there are many ways to achieve it, but it can be very hard to know if you are doing it right or if you are getting consistent. Especially when bowling on house shots or a lot of friction and free hook.
In this video I explain how you can challenge yourself and have the lane show you when you throw a shot that isn't as strong as you want it to be.

Much has been said about how important high rev rate is, but not everyone is capable of achieving that. Outside of pro tours, would you agree that rev rate is not that crucial for league or local tournament bowlers? Also, for those bowlers who wear a wrist support due to injury reasons, is there even a way to increase rev rate? Thank you

    • @ThomasLarsenBowling

For instance, when Nathan Bohr moved way right of everyone on the last leg of the PTQ this year to make the cut. In bowling in hitting your target is used a lot. I used area as my reference in executing my release towards a area at the dots in the lane, then use a area at the arrows and visualize the ball going thru these areas and visualize the ball traveling towards the breakpoint which I see it being on top of the reflection on the lane of the head of PIN number 3 on the lane. For this kind of shot I used the Ivory Rhino Pearl for the first time during league, for my third game, and had a 245 game. I bet the Road Warrior will be good in this shot because it has similar specs as the Ivory at 70 x 3.5 x 20 layout.

This right here in my opinion is the reason why the PBA needs to ban urethane. Reactive balls need to be the only thing going down the lane besides spare balls. It makes you execute shots way more than urethane does.

It definitely requires better execution, though I don’t see them ever banning urethane. I’d love to see an annual no-urethane event on the PBA tour. That would be very interesting to see who makes the show.

Love this video because at one particular day I was in the Kegel Training Center at which there was Pete Weber, Norman Duke and Rhino Page. Kegel had set up two of their lanes with different topography and same oil pattern. They were going to bowl against a team from the Kegel Center. It was interesting to see the different ball reaction/movements had due to the different topographical changes of the two lanes.

On a shorter pattern yes. On medium or longer I would probably go to something cleaner after urethane
