I don't need a bike. All these videos showing this bike is great so I checked. It is sold out.
What's the mounts on the fork for?
You can put mounts for bike pumps, additional storage and more.
Isn’t there bottle cage holes under the downtube too?
Sure is lol. I missed it lol.
Just got this bike! Love it! There is also a sneaky hidden set of mounting points underneath the first ones 😄
Yeah I saw that too, after I made this short lol.
Hey I just bought the lzr pro spinning reel and I got it in green but I was just wondering if you can show us how to grease up the lzr pro since you said awhile back you greased one and it made a huge difference
I’ll have to get a camera stand but great idea!
I got this same gravel bike and I flipped the stem upside down and got a bit of rise out of it. 🙂
I own three of these rods. Perfect for river fishing whenever I'm in the Yosemite area. Had them for several years and still holding up!
I can’t believe how cheap this is. I want this bicycle just to see for myself. All I been hearing is good things. I almost bought a gravel bicycle for $1000.
What type of fish species would this combo suit best? Need advice for affordable Walmart combos for trout
Large / smallmouth bass, bowfin, pike and similar species.
@@Tightt88 any recommendations for trout combo? Like 30 bucks under. Picked up the shimano fx for 30 bucks today. Any exp with those?
@@t0nyT I am not a huge trout fishermen but usually trout fishing is considered UL-L fishing. So the Lew’s Lite Speed or Speed Lite (yes those are two different reels lol) are good. The Shimano FX isn’t bad for $20, it’s honestly the only Shimano I would ever recommend, maybe the Siena too and finally the Bass Pro Shops Crappie Max reel is okay for $20.
Looks good 🔥
NOOOO!!! Why would Walmart do this to us?!?
I know, I am so mad about it lol. Thanks for commenting…
I like how you use real-world examples to illustrate your points, it makes it easier to relate.
I do really like this reel everyone. You should check it out for only $20-$25!
You just sold me a bike! 🙂 I just ordered one! I got the 50cm medium size gravel bike for $248. Thank you for your video review! 🤗
Thanks man and no problem. Like I said in the video, I am no expert but I know just enough to get me in trouble lol. Now fishing on the other hand, I know a lot about.
@@Tightt88 Your welcome! and later I might put straight handlebars on it and a rear 500watt ebike kit. 🙂
@@mrk1075 oh nice. You should make a video on that.
just bought my ozark last night. Still in the box in my car.
lol, I have put about 60 miles on this bike so far and it feels aooo good.
@@Tightt88 How are you liking it? I just completed my third ride and I;m like trying to find what the catch is.
@@jihmmysanchez same, this bike is too good for $248 lol.
How tall are you? I’m 6”2 and want to by the bike but scared it might be too small
I am 5.8.
I love these rods. I have about 4 of them in different lengths. They are inexpensive but good.
I work at bass pro I bought it yesterday I get 50 percent off I caught a crappie the same exact day I bought it
It’s a great rod!
What about Kastking? I’ve seen a bunch of good reviews for them.
Yeah I have used Kast King reels in the past. I like them but they do not have as good of a fit and finish as these reels until you get to their midrange reels. I will say, I hear the new Spartacus II is really nice and it looks great too. I Ned to try that reel out soon.
What makes it 50cm?
How tall are you and how does it feel too small to big?
I am 5,8ft and a medium feel just right.
What size did you get? And how tall are you if you don't mind me asking?
I got the medium and I am 5,8 and it fits me really well.
@@Tightt88 thanks I'm 5'8 also! That works... enjoy that bike! Can't wait to see what you do for upgrades
@@dragonflygenetics420 well I am not upgrading it too much. Just rigging it for fishing rods and tackle lol. As parts wear out I’ll be replacing them though.
@@Tightt88 right on!! You did say that...bass fishing? I lived in Florida for 35 years used to do a lot of bass fishing with the bass tournament clubs... now in Belize 🇧🇿 😎 And budget bikes is what I need because we have to pay double the price cause our currency is 2 to OnePlus I have to ship it and I have to pay 38.8% duty on a bike So going name brands to me is out of the question anymore get a good frame and bring in parts it's a lot cheaper to upgrade it that way for me... But that seems like a good bike to just get around town we have a lot of dirt roads and hills here
@@dragonflygenetics420 I was just in Belize for a Cruise, beautiful country. And yes I bass and ultralight fish.
Can’t wait for your next video
Oh thanks man. I am not sure which I will next. I have a bunch I want to do.
Love me some Ozark trail
Just picked one up today at Walmart. I checked the website for pricing right after it caught my eye and the website said they were out of stock but it was not true. You have to check in person.
Exactly, the same thing happened to me.
Some of The Browning spinning reel have a unique design I really liked them
Wonder if the tires can be made tubeless?
I was wondering that too.
@@Tightt88 anyone find out?
@@big_bird8597 out of my expertise. I am just a casual rider that knows basic bike repair. I don’t even like working on disc brakes lol.
Hows this compare to the ozark trails ot and otx reels
It’s not as good as the OTX but it’s also only an ultralight reel vs the OTX, is only a bass fishing and up reel.
Do you know where I can get a geometry chart for this for both the 44 and 50 cm. It is not in their website
The geometry chart is on the WalMart web page for the bike. Both sizes, just click on the size box on the right and scroll down the thumbnails on the left.
@@Rob07601 The 44 looks to be equivalent to a 52 ish, which is still too big for me :( The 50 is about a 56, comparing to other gravel bike geometries
@@ltaylor2238 Don't know anything about it. I pulled down a medium and it just felt too small for me, I'm 6'1". If they decide to make a large, I'll definitely be interested.
Great review
Is the ozark trails otx smoother than the ot reel? Was goin for the 30$ setup but for a lil more, im thinking the extra bearings help for a smoother reel.
The OTX is a little smoother and more refined.
What size frame is it? For everyone saying online says out of stock, your best bet would be to go look. All the ones in my area say the same thing, but I've seen them there.
I have the medium frame and I am 5,8 and its fits perfectly.
I couldn't find them in stock online, turns out theres one like not egen an hour from me. Thinking about it
You should man!
loved it! keep em coming!!!
GOPRO FISHINGVIDS PLEASE
When I get a chest mount lol.
Freewheel? Pass...
You’re going to pass on a $248 bike that is as good as any $600-800 bike because it has a free wheel? How about you just use the money you saved by buying this bike and use it to upgrade the back wheel. Additionally, this bike is a 2X7 which gives you more range and durability. Which makes up for the free wheel.
@@Tightt88 I'm shocked and disappointed that they still even make freewheel hubs.
@@Jamarkus_Delvonte there is nothing wrong with a free wheel lol. They are easier and cheaper to produce and maintain.
Realistically, if you know the difference between a freehub and freewheel you are not the target demographic. The OT bikes seem to be drastically better than every other dept. store (and most sporting goods store) bike in the US. These suckers seem to be great entry level bikes, especially for anyone that chokes on the current prices of "bike shop" brands and isn't confident shopping for a name brand used bike,
@@erikwiseman1702 exactly! Thats why I bought it. I looked around for a can used bike shop bikes those were still more expensive. At least $400-$500, with no warranty!
Great review! You are absolutely right. This bike is punching way above its weight class for $250!!
Thanks man, I appreciate the feedback!
Those are very heavy non-folding wire bed Kenda tires, you can get Panaracer Gravel King folding tubeless SK+/SS+ made in Japan for $35 shipped, wouldn't concentrate on tires too much. Still great tires for the $250, not typical WM no-name stuff, awesome fully upgradable bike for the money
Yeah like I said in the video, I am not bike expert / mechanic. I am just a guy that knows a little that is excited about this bike that is punching way above its weight. Thanks for the info / comment, I appreciate it!
@@Tightt88 Great bike regardless, thank you for posting it, a hidden WM gem
What tubeless rims would u recommend? Or are these rims tubeless compatible?
@@Aka.Aka. oh man, I don’t know lol. Like I said in the video, I am no bike expert / mechanic. I am currently researching this topic but I am still not 100%. Based on my limited research, you can run these rims tubeless but I do not know about the tires. Me personally, I’ll probably never go tubeless. It just seems like it’s too much hassle. I am shock I bought a bike with disc brakes. I am more of an old school guy when it comes to bikes. The simpler, the better.
@@Tightt88 oh sorry I meant to ask AK but yeah I agree I kinda miss rim brakes they're so easy to adjust 😭😭
Are they only releasing limited stock? Or are they just getting sold out that quick?
I think they are just selling out. There were 10-12 bikes at my Walmart when I bought mine and two weeks later they were all gone.
Brake handles, not brake pads lol.
Just found one at a nearby Walmart. Very pleased.
Good man. This bike is so good for the price.
You ride it any yet?
@@Tightt88 Yeah - the gears shift smooth as silk, the brakes are okay, it needed some slight tweaks for ergonomics, but otherwise I can't believe this quality bike sells for $248. The day I bought it, I saw it in the rack at Walmart, I pulled it down myself, rolled it up front, went through the self-serve check out (no line) and I was in and out of the store in 10 minutes 😆. This bike is way better than the Raleigh 10 speed I'd been riding for 50 years. It's all I need.
@@williamdejeffrio9701 same!
Another correction, the tires cost $40 each.
How's the fit? I only see Small and Medium(50cm) frames. I'm 5' 10" but identify as 6'.
Medium will be perfect for you. I am 5.8 and its fits good.
these new OT bikes are out of stock like everywhere, thanks for the tease lol
Sorry man. I think my local Walmart put them out early.
I found one on a walmart close to me. Wondering if I should pull the trigger, I just bought a kent trouvaille.
@@walkingnote1090 if you have the money do it. I would almost say return the Kent and save some money with the Ozark Trail. But that’s all dependent on what you are wanting to do. Are you MTBing? Commuting, or a little of both? If it’s both, go with the Ozark Trail G.1 Explorer. The gear ratio a lone will get you where you’re going faster.
@Tightt88 oh nooo I LOVE my trouvaille lol. I just kinda got back into riding bikes in general but I really like the budget side of the sport. Either way I'll probably end up buying it within the next couple weeks if still available. I do prefer mtb style though if being honest but alot of mtb youtubers have been noticing this bike.
@@walkingnote1090 exactly, I live budget side of most hobbies. It’s interesting to see what companies can do with a budget.
Thanks brother, I am balling on a budget right now and just got into fishing as a fun new hobby to keep life exciting and this is exactly what I was looking for.
Nice score! Hard to come by. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks man, yeah the more I ride this bike the more I am impressed. I will be doing a 1000 mile update on it.
Just saw Walmart has Lews here on clearance for only $15 vs Lews lzr pro at $34
Oh crap, that’s a deal. I saw you commenting on AAA podcast yesterday by the way lol.
@@Tightt88 I meant to say hero was $15 but the mach smash was on clearance for $25 from it's $60. May pull the lever for one of these, which one is better aside from the price, hero or mach?
@@Tightt88 one more question, I've noticed and asked Lews what's the difference between the three different colored Xfinity combos (solid green, white/green and orange). Have they updated it improved any of the hardware in the rod or reels? For about $15 more I can get the green combo instead of just the mach smash reel on clearance? I also saw they had an xj version for $55 so what's the difference on that model? Your thoughts 🤔
@@Tightt88 my plan was to get a replacement reel for my Diawa legalis that broke on my grandpa's samurai rod or st Croix triumph. Aesthetically the mach smash looks bad on it as they have more blues which is why I gave a look at the hero reel which is blue but has the same ratio. Trying to spend $ wisely while being OCD about things looking good together as well as working good together. My wife needs me to pair down my fishing gear from all the stuff I've bought or inherited from my grandad so I'm perplexed on what to go get rid of or hang onto. Thanks for your vids and if or whenever you get time to share your thoughts I'm very grateful.
@@jameshook6129 when it comes to the Xfinity line it’s the Walmart exclusive. This actually involves the LZR Pro, even though it isn’t labeled Xfinity. There really isn’t any differences between them other than bearing count. The LZR pro and $68 Xfinity have 10BB,while the XJ has 8BB. Additionally, the XJ10 is 2000 size reel with a 6ft Medium Light Rod, while the regular Xfinity is 3000 size reel with a 6.6-7ft medium rod. When it comes to the internals, they are all very similar. They use CNC machined zinc allow gears with a brass pinion gear. That goes for the Smash too. The LZR Pro is the Smash but with a slightly different knob and paint theme. Just to add more variables, Lew’s just released the Lew’s Classic Spinning Combo for $50. This is a 3000 size reel with a 7ft medium rod. The reel is 8BB if I remember correctly with a lighter and more premium Lew’s crank arm that you find on higher end Lew’s reels. I almost picked one up but I don’t need anymore rods or reels right now lol. I hope this helps.
My 5'6" snapped after a year - the smaller ultralight holding up well
Interesting. I think due to its budget quality / mass production there will be more likelihood of lemons. But hey, it lasted a year and it only cost $20.
@@Tightt88 I got it off the clearance rack for $10 would buy again but I would be careful with it next time - caught a lot fish on that rod
How’s it going everyone, I just wanted to make a correction of this video, I implied that the rear derailleur was a L-TWOO R2. That is not correct, it is actually a Shimano Tourney TZ, which is better than the R2.
Not actually L-TWOO has SRAM DNA
