Trip Away In Safe Hands
Australia
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 7 ก.ค. 2021
We are Bill and Vicki and we live on an island in the beautiful south-west area of Western Australia. When we're not spending time with our wonderful loving family, or working in our garden, we enjoy travelling.
With a treasure trove of townships and countryside to discover, there is a lot to see in this amazing land of ours. And we always try to support the local economy wherever we go, especially the bakeries!
We put our trust 'in safe hands' - our Lord God and Saviour Jesus - as we journey through life.
Join us as we take another 'Trip Away'.

Esperance Trip Part 1
On our way to Esperance we stop at a couple of free camps then at Quagi Beach - 80kms west of Esperance - for $15 per night per site. Great campsite with amazing beach views - we even went for a swim!!

GWM Tank 500 Review
มุมมอง 3.1K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
We offer an honest car review of our GWM Tank 500. After 10000kms of driving we know a bit about it. But it is by no means a comprehensive representation, as there is just so much in this car to see, to learn and to use! We will review the 4WD aspect of this car in a future video. #carreview #gwm #tank500

Best Free Nullarbor Campsites
มุมมอง 923หลายเดือนก่อน
More great free campsites as we travel home. In fact we only stayed at one caravan park on this leg of the journey and that was Shelly Beach at Ceduna. We find, what we believe to be, the best free campsites on the Nullarbor. The 13k Peg and Newman Rock. Ravensthorpe Free RV overnight stop had the bonus of it being the wildflower show weekend. And we stay at a favourite of ours - Lake Nunijup. ...
Review of 3 Fantastic Free Off-grid Campsites

Heading home our first overnight stop was at Bethrungra Dam near Junee - great free campsite with some good facilities. Our second stop is at Lake Wyangan near Griffith. It was very windy so we stayed two nights at this terrific spot. Great facilities and not far from the historic town of Griffith. And the third free campsite was one of our favourites at Bottle Bend on the Murray River. TH-cam ...
Back Across Again!

The van is fixed! So we make our way back across Australia to pick it up. We attend a beautiful family wedding and visit some new places (for us). And we have a new car - Bill will do a review video on that soon. TH-cam music: El Penultimo Baile by Jovenes Viejos #nomads #australiatravel #scenery

Just a quick update on what we have been up to since we came home. A trip down the river in our boat. Lots of gardening. A visit to Mandurah to see our precious family and where we saw an amazing feeding frenzy of birds and dolphins. Thanks for sharing. I’m picking up my new Tank 500 in a few weeks and it is great to get a real Tank 500’s owners opinion. The fuel efficiency was a concern but 9-10L/100 isn’t bad at all compared to other high priced vehicles similar to the Tank.
@@kevinferguson530 Yes and you only need the cheaper fuel in Australia. We are just on a trip away with our van - it tows well too. Enjoy your new Tank 500!
Wow cooking 🧑🍳 vids
@@saltyskippa yep - quick and easy😊
A very good and comprehensive review. I have the same car and have done 3000km. I found that if you reduce the voice volume down to zero it gets rid of the annoying bullet sound and also all the speed warnings. I am also very happy with the car.
Great - thanks for that tip!
Excellent review. Watching from Southern Africa

Thank you for your review. Very informative. You mentioned that the gwm tow bar kit is a 7 pin ( i was told it was 13 pin) and when you added an adapter, the cruise control would disengage and the tail gate door would lock - is this your experience? Also where would you mount driving led lights and/or led light bar? Can you purchase alloy bull bar/nudge bar? Thank you Regards Chris.
Thank you - the dealer fitted the pin as per our requirements, they asked what we needed. We haven't used the cruise control so sorry can't answer that one. When the caravan is hooked up to the car there is little room for us to open the tailgate door without causing damage and when the electrics are connected then the tailgate door doesn't open. Once it is unplugged then the door opens. Sorry we haven't attached LED lights. Also sorry we don't know about the purchase of a bull bar or nudge bar as we are not intending to do this. We are changing our caravan in the new year and won't need the adapter so it may change the tailgate door situation.
thanks for sharing, i've always been interested in getting a T500

Just a little fact check in the unreliable power you mentioned at the start mate. It’s not self sufficient at all. In fact SA has constant black outs and needs propping up from reliable base load coal fired power generation which they pull from other states which is why SA power bills are the highest in the country.
@@galacticnemesis366 thanks. We spoke on a current report we found by a Dr Gabrielle Kuiper. You are right - Adelaide does have the highest electricity costs in Australia

Australia is a great place!
Absolutely
I think it was Sirios (spelling?) our relative Private William Nash and his wife arrived on also. It's believed their first child was the first European to be born in Australia
It is amazing to think our ancestors would have known one another under dire circumstances. images.app.goo.gl/L3nPMZS68oMyFkRBA
@@tripawayinsafehands The most amazing thought is how Australia as we know it was started from just over a thousand people arriving in seven little wooden boats with only the stars showing the way. I have a mix of the new and the old, First Fleet and First Nations (Yuin, Bega Valley). We also hold the tragic record of the first child of the new colony being the very first European to die from a snake bite. My Yuin ancestors were also among the very first to see Captain Cook's Endeavour come into view. When they saw the white sails from a distance they believed it to be the spirit of the pelican returning to steal their children. Pelicans were seen by Yuin as thieves because they steel the fish the Yuin catch.
@@FromTheGong that is really interesting. Thank you
@@tripawayinsafehands Somehow eleven got changed to seven for some reason.
