ive got kind oif a theory about smoking popes. the lightning at their venues (at least the youtube videos) never fit their sound. they were a darker more death cab vibe and just needed plain black with white lights on them. weird observation but anyway, the popes always sounded great!

I really love Pinback and there awesome tracks, but live they kinda suck

this was my 4th time being fortune enough to see Pinback in the Chi. My first time being @ the Hideout block party; essentially a parking lot, 5 people, a couple stages and lots of rain. Would gladly watch them play in a blizzard.

Lead singer seems shitty, people are jumping off the stage, yet as soon as they get up there he's urging them to get off, even as they're about to jump. You want people to like you? Include the crowd in your stuff, don't push them back to make room for your stomping and hair flips.
