(3) Alcoholics Anonymous AA Pet Peeves of Mine
This is a video about 3 AA Pet Peeves of mine. These are a few things that I have been exposed to in meetings over the years that still kinda make me say "oh boy". Nothing too serious. Rule 62 is in order here. If you have any yourself, fell free to air them out.

The AA Big Book: To Read or Not to Read
มุมมอง 3172 หลายเดือนก่อน
This video covers the idea of getting sober in Alcoholics Anonymous without getting into the AA Big Book. The Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book is considered "required" reading in the program...but is it? I go over the ideas behind reading the AA Big Book and doing the 12 Steps of AA.

How AA is like having your own Time Machine.

The step work in Alcoholics Anonymous allows us to go back in time and repair the things we may have thought were out of our control. With the use of AA's Time Machine, we can go back and set things straight, allowing us to carry on with productive and fulfilling lives.

What about the real alcoholic… I’m on my second soberity and looking back at my first I didn’t do the work and it didn’t work for me . Then starting my second soberity worked all twelve and I have now landed recovered from a hopeless state of mind and body and get to live spiritually… thank god

They love fresh meat. It feeds their sense of purpose. I did find solace in the meetings for the 1st couple of years, however, I never bought the promise that if I didn't do it their way, i would get drunk. 90% of them act one way inside the rooms and another way outside the rooms. Careful who you share with and what you share. Anonymity has gone out the window. They talk, gossip and judge. I recommend outside therapy with a 3rd party. I have 25 years and quit going years ago when I realized my sponsor was a total narcissist.

It really is 2 different world's, the AA/NA World and the Real World. 99% of the members talk a good game but look at their real live's and you see another game.

My original East Lansing home group expected new guys to get 3 sponsors and call three on daily basis until advised otherwise. Don W. was my stern disciplinarian sponsor, Jerry S. was my 'slow down and talk about your feelings' sponsor, David was my east coast intellectual, actively recovering from narcissism sponsor.

SERVICE TRAP???? When a person has TAKEN AND TAKEN from everyone in their lives while their drinking, you think arranging some chairs, or making coffee or staying after the meeting to clean up is too much to ask? What about developing humility and learning to not be a selfish bast*^%rd? You are so wrong, you are a danger to alcoholics!

The reason Number 1 the program of AA fails is BIG FARMA. The legal drugs that "some" people need is way OVERPRESCRIBED.

The Sinclair method worked for me. Sobriety and abstinence was not the prize, regaining control of my drinking was. I lost my cravings for beer and not drinking is an easy choice.

Sometimes feel like meetings have a similar feel to a networking event (go to them and everyone is trying to do the same thing) feel like you get pulled in all directions.. and then end up being rude by not actually getting to listen to anyone well. I end up feeling rude.. its bizarre. Anger (at 13mnths) Yep and carefully nursed resentments yep.. they are nicely rounded off.. just not enough to drop out of the bag.. No. 10 there would be universal.. TAX is just a pain. but finding a good and reasonable accountant is super hard too a good one should point things out too.. Really identify with a lot there as a business owner nice work John

Four hundred and five days sans alcohol and more than two years of living a drug free life. Here's the deal. ALOCHOL is a dangerous and deadly drug. It abolishes relationships with loved ones and slowy makes you a villain. I received my comeuppance and decided to stop the nonsense by quitting cold turkey. I managed to work my ass off and save my residuals to venture out on a.... Twenty-one day, two continent, two country, twelve city, solo backpacking misadventure which took my dumb ass to Spain (Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Tarifa & Sevilla) & Morocco (Tanger, Chefchaouen, Fes, Merzouga/ Sahara Desert, Marrakech, Casablanca and Rabat). It was an educational and learning experience plus, It was full of awe inspiring moments. To all my fellow addicts, I Love You All Have faith, believe in yourself, never give up and enjoy God's greatest gift... Life.
