Slovakia is a country that is crazy landlocked in the middle of europe with a LOAD of history and epic lore. it's been part of nearly every empire that Europe has seen - the Roman empire, Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, and then as it was part of Nazi-occupied europe in the 1940's it soon became part of the USSR's communistic rule. FINALLY today though SHE'S FREE!!! i've tried for a while to visit b...

i found viking lore in largs, scotland!🏴
มุมมอง 104หลายเดือนก่อน
Largs, a quaint town of just around 10,000 people is notorious in the epic lore and history of Scotland. not only did they defeat the vikings which then led to the entire retreat of the vikings in the 13th century, but also they played a critical rule during world war 2. on top of that - largs also hosts the Paddle Steamboat Waverley a couple of times a year which is the world's last remaining ...

it's no secret i think about the roman empire every day. i mean afterall, i do live in the UK, which has basically everything to attribute to the Romans. Ronda is this hidden Spanish city that many spaniards haven't heard of (or been to). and yes , I have a lot of spanish friends. WELL Ronda was a fortress that was used as a spa town, a defense, and a general town to help send water to the rest...

Hey, hey hey!!!! Bergen is NOT the last viking capital!!!!!! This is nonsense anyway since Norway had "seat of residence" in the viking age rather than what we now know as a capital. But if you HAVE to name the last capital of the viking age it would then be Trondheim(then. Nidaros); Following the common accepted information that the viking age ended in 1066 with the death of King Harad Hardråde at the battle of Stamford bridge. -But as always there is different definitions of the beginnig and end of the viking age and even what a capital is. I know that people from Bergen tries to tell visitors that Bergen had some special place that was robbed from them; This is simply a lie. Capitals of Norway has been several, and to name a few: Trondheim(Nidaros), Oslo, Sarpsborg(Borg), Bjørgvin(Bergen), Kungshelle, Avaldsnes. Several has been capitals more than once. In addition; the assebly where law, courts and public involvements was held was at the diffent "Thing" (þing) around the kingdom such as ex: Frostating, Gulating, Borgarting, Eidsivating (these are still court districts in Norway today). -And even today the parliament in Norway, Denmark and Iceland is called Stortinget, Folketinget and Alltinget (spelled Allþing). So STOP spreadig these lies!!! Would it hur to at least do a google search or check wikipedia before you post your video!
Bergen is amazing!! im chasing a series of history from Scotland that I ran into here! there's many different sides to history and this one is soooo crazy how it's different as it's told in Scotland vs Norway. thanks for sharing your beautiful country with me! it's so awesome and rich if culture! I can't wait to come back again. Trondheim is on the list!!
Bergen has got to be the best place to kick off my summer holiday adventures! this is just one of many so stick around and let's explore new parts of europe together :D
@06:30 Dear lady, While these people are Moroccans, it should also be noted that they are playing songs and music from an ethnic group in Morocco known as Gnawa, descendants of West Africans who were brought to Morocco during the trans-Saharan slave trade. It's not "Berber" music. Furthermore, all Moroccans are genetically Amazigh by blood, meaning they are indigenous North Africans. The Islamic conquest that converted North Africans to Islam had barely impact on the local genomic scale; it was primarily about leadership. We are predominantly still in place. We have many Amazigh groups in Morocco, using different dialects of Tamazight (this is not Arabic), in addition to Darija, Moroccan "Arabic," which is also not understood in the Middle East. Darija contains numerous loanwords from Spanish and French, but is also strongly influenced by Tamazight/Berber. While I don’t doubt your sincere approach, I would like to emphasize that we (my family are Amazigh from Melilla) prefer "Amazigh" over "Berber," a name used by outsiders to refer to us; it's not a name we use to identify ourselves. Thank you for your beautiful content, and I wish you a pleasant stay, wherever you are. Cheers.
oh thank you so much for the info! i had no idea and next time will use the right words! it's such a brilliant and rich culture! thank you for sharing it with me!

Dude, take it easy! She was talking about the Perdicaris Palace which is now a museum. This story (Perdicaris and his wife Ellen) is dating back to the late 19th century. Mr Mondo's name was actually Saint Kentigern, also known as Mungo. The "auction" is actually a wholesale cash and carry, Glasgow is not a country, it's not "merchant cross" rather it's "Mercat Cross" (Scots for "market" so you were more correct the first time), that "old merchant building" was actually a bank. BTW, you walked right past Glasgow oldest house on the High Street, "The Provand's Lordship" which was built in 1471. And that "turtle" on the mural was clearly a crocodile. The animal at 34:88 is a badger. The man depicted in the mural at 12:45 is Billy Connolly.
It fell off the side of a trucks load
that's a crazy payload to fall!! 😅
That’s a bit rustic . But the rates are cheap
