I played with different comp and different people almost every single session. Barb is one of the most flexible classes in Arena and can make it work at the highest levels with any comp.

Wrath of thunder is more applicable to most comps. It's easier to play and requires less team coordination so I prefer to run it with most people. There are some team comps like ice mage, where your team wants to play slower and thunder axe can definitely outshine wrath of thunder in that kind of team composition.

I think wrath of thunder has better damage per second, but thunder axe has more burst. If you want to do the most damage possible over like 2 minutes, wrath of thunder is better for sustained damage. If you want the most damage possible in like a 5 second window, then thunder axe has more top end burst.

If it's an ice mage, then i run thunder axe because they need to build and we can play a slower playstyle and i can with them and then amp their burst. If it's a fire mage, then it's up to you. Fire mage is more flexible, it has delayed burst but can still play relatively fast. So choice is up to you whether you want to play wrath of thunder or thunder axe.

@@mistahj6724 you need to cc break and kite. if you're slow on cc break, they get an additional 60% damage multiplier on you from you being decelerated + dazed.

yea i spoke about it briefly in the video. they both have their merits. wrath of thunder has more upfront burst and quicker burst, but has less burst damage. thunder axe has bigger burst and more amp damage for your team, but it takes some building to get the full potential. up to you and whether your team comp wants to play fast or slow.

@@ijonm7875 WoT definitely has less damage. But it’s the trade off. You have access to all your damage after only a few builder skills. Thunder axe has a lot more damage but it takes awhile to build it up

@@mistahj6724 looking to bait buffs and try to cc and interrupt enemy combos while using healer DR to block the initial burst. If you have at least one ranged to pressure, it makes it a lot easier as well. Just don’t get stuck in an all in fight with them or you’re done. Just do your best to kite and drag out the fight as long as possible

@@LFEHova legit! Tnx bro, btw, what does healer DR mean? Also how do you kite or bait skills? Is there anything specific that you are looking for them to cast before you run away or kite? Thank you...

@@mistahj6724 every healer has a damage reduction skill that reduces the damage the person takes. It can prevent people from dying to burst combos. Baiting is pretty simple, if you know the enemy team is going to focus you, just run and line of sight and kite their damage and their buffs and cooldowns will be wasted and you can re engage after you get healed up and use all your big cooldowns

@@mistahj6724 I'm going to be putting out videos for throne and liberty in the near future when it launches. I'm a heavy PvPer and throne and liberty has a bigger focus on the PvP aspect.

@@chaninpinthong6520 it 100% does not apply in arena. I have full resonance for my pve build, and if it worked, I would be getting inscribed at approx 70 seconds into the fight (which would be broken) We’ve also tested it when I ran into my guildies, none of the emblems apply in arena either

@@vladimirivanov4566 I just run the same emblems i do for pve in BG and Trial. it seems to work fine. i will be making a pve guide video soon that will include everything

@@Drakthar-f8t I would use wrath of thunder with that comp, since the assassin has great upfront burst. You want to also be as bursty upfront as possible so that you can secure the early kill and early 3v2 lead

@@khrylreunion4747 warrior/Barb has great healing debuff uptime. So you can go for anyone since you should be able to kill anyone through the healing. You just need to watch out for enemy healer DR which could prevent you from bursting someone. When I run with my warrior guildie, we prioritize the highest threat dps and just continuously lock them down. I also don’t always take leap, so if that’s the case, we just go on whoever is closest since we can’t reliably double jump someone if I don’t take leap.

@@JodaInside inscribed stone isn’t active inside arena. It’s turned off by the scaling. I’ve tested it and nothing from inscribed stone is active so I didn’t include it in this video on arena PvP

till a nerf arrives ;-) barb/assa def not balanced. Just higher Cd on Skills, and the perma 25% dmg buff remove and everything is fine.

@@WUSA- I actually think mage is way stronger than both assassin and barb. I actually love going against assassin Barb comp way more than going against any comp with mages in it

@@GiovanniEldi 120 sec buff, stun, vulnerable, wrath of thunder (thunder axe, earthquake, wrath of thunder (thunder axe) There are other scenarios where the combo has to change but that’s the highest damage combo possible. If you watch some of the clips, you’ll see when I use what. I gave a large variety of fights to sample, so it covers most scenarios

@@gege-ex7be Sorry, I'm not really playing Tarisland anymore. Getting ready for T&L since PvP is my main focus in most games. You can use my thunder axe build, cause that is the same one I used in PvE and I was able to pull about 4.3k-4.5k on the target dummy without pre building or any buffs.

@@shafwanannas920 all my gear has cooldown on it and I have the upper left bonus nodes on my inscribed tree. But the inscribed tree doesn’t work in arena and neither does your gear, so it doesn’t really matter for arena. Only for PvE

I'm only like top 30 in the world for Barb PvE DPS. If you people think that's good enough, I can make a PvE DPS guide too. Best I can do is 4.3k dps on the target dummy right now over a 4 minute run.

They are both good. I said it in the video during my explanation of the two builds. Wrath of thunder is quicker burst, but lower max damage burst. Thunder axe has more burst and amps damage by an additional 9% for your team, but it takes longer to build up the resources needed to summon 5 axes. So it really depends on your team comp and strategy whether you can afford to play thunder axe build or if you need access to the quicker more on demand burst of wrath of thunder.

@@kresenjr3236 for which build? It’s also heavily dependent on what comp I’m running and who my opponents are. My standard opener is buff, stun, debuff, earthquake, wrath of thunder. But sometimes you can’t do that if your opponent is expecting you and is going to DR your target

For the thunder axe build, I try to build as much as possible before committing to a fight. Then I also open with buff, stun, debuff, earthquake, if I’m close to max resources I build a little more to get to five discs, if I’m at 4 discs sometimes I just go. Try to sync your damage with your other dps cause the discs also buff your other dps’ damage by an additional 9%

@@kresenjr3236 Yeah my discord chatter was too much to include in the video. So I muted the voice comms of the fight and added music over top to make it less boring. Any specific fight you're curious about what the thought process was?

Honestly I got used to the power and pop and was finally getting it under control. It stopped getting hotter and my dinking was finally getting good again. But then I got an email from Vatic saying it was going to be delisted. So I went back to my old Vatic pro 14mm. Drinks and drops were a lot easier with my old paddle. I actually under hit the ball a lot expecting a lot more power. I’ve had to actually start swinging the paddle again to get power and get the ball over the net. It’s been another adjustment but after 3 days of play and one drilling session, I’m feeling good with my old Vatic pro 14mm flash.

I am not using any lead tape. I don't really struggle with the sweet spot and I feel like the plowthrough is plenty, especially coming from a 14mm Flash. I'm finding the Oni more enjoyable to play as I've forced myself to adapt to how powerful the paddle is rather than just mindlessly hitting the same strokes as before.

I put in about another 5 hours of play, and 2 hours of drilling. I'm trying to put in some more drilling because it puts a lot more impact onto the paddle than just normal play. I'll try to get more play in after work this week and find time to drill some drives/resets to try to break it in further and then I'll make a video.

I'm assuming you're talking about the markings on it, and no it isn't. That's just the marking of the ball from me hitting the ball with the paddle.

The sweet spot feels about the same to me. I haven't noticed any more mishits than usual. I'm still breaking it in and haven't done a drill session yet. I'll put out another short video after I break it in some more and see if it gets any hotter. After 10 hours now, I still don't notice it getting any hotter and I smack pretty hard. I'm hoping some of the other early reviewers just had defective paddles :D

Yeah my new paddle is 16mm so it is heavier. I believe that is the extra plow through because of the weight.

yea aspect of might, challenging shout, and a few stacks of disobedience and make sure you are fortified and you should be able to tank one wave

I think the 2 best elixirs will be the 50 extra max resource elixir or the 15% crit rate elixir if you don't have those elixirs, the cheap 2% crit rate and 15% crit damage is a great elixir to spam while practicing

I am not sure. I’d have to take a look at your build and see what is different from mine and where the gap might be. Maybe item power on your 2h mace?

@@LFEHova Thank you for replying btw. My mace is lower but its 808 Item power so not by much. my crit damage is 510%, vunerable is 390% ( need to make a few adjustments and have a low vunerable roll on mace and sword) and core is 534%. crit chance is at max which is like 41 or 42 i believe? I dont have that aspect on my boots however and im really wondering if you're gaining a 50% dmg increase multiplier because of that? Also i play on controller on the pc, I really dont have to play keyboard and mouse just to shift click my HOTA lol

@@xxFil360xx Ah well i'm using the keyboard and mouse to hold position and swing my hota facing away from the boss for the extra Hota damage. hopefully they buff hota base damage and remove this mechanic so it is balanced for controller players.

This was before the nerf. I imprinted it directly from the codex and it used to imprint based on character level and everyone level 100 could imprint at 36. Now everyone has to find an aspect on the ground. It is base 14 now from codex and super rough if you don't find a high roll one.

Yes i'm using butcher's cleaver for stagger damage on phase 2. My second pair of gloves has crit to injured and crit to injured aspect. I use it for when Lilith gets low on phase 1 and when she gets low on phase 2. The consistent crits really helps my damage output along with my attack speed from my aspect that increases attack speed on core skill crit.

@@LFEHova Thanks! which 1H are you replacing with butchers? the one with Aspect of the Expectant OR Accelerating Aspect? RE: Gloves, What Aspect is Dmg to injured? or you mean the affix (attributes) but keep rapid aspect.

@@richnguyen3977 i'm replacing my expectant, and keeping the accelerating aspect, so i can apply as much stagger as possible to try to knock her down. as for the gloves, i have crit rate to injured as an affix AND as an aspect for my glove swap

your crit dmg and vuln dmg are much lower than mine, i'm around 470 of both, i would double check your paragon boards and make sure you are getting all the vuln damage you can, and make sure you have heavy handed +3

I died a lot while progging, being animation locked when waves spawned or when mechanics happened phase 2. Like mid swing hota and then I try to react and move but I’m too slow. So I just went ham on attack speed so I could get my combos off and be very ready to move and dodge. Also phase 2 needs stagger and more attack speed = more stagger damage.
