    Well as of now, unfortunately it seems you haven’t won your seat, but there’s still hope. Nigel has won his seat in Clacton which was a key goal in this election, and with him in parliament, people like you will hopefully have a better chance of getting in. Nice job on third place anyways man considering Shapps has basically always gotten around the 10,000-20,000 mark, so you did really well and don’t let that get in the way of what’s to come.

      It's a very promising result. I now hold the keys to the constituency. The Conservatives cannot win with me in the race. Labour can only win with me in the race. That is my springboard to a 2029 victory.

    Why does your so-called political party feel entitled to forego public scrutiny & regular standard democratic processes that every other candidate adheres to as a matter of course? Also, Jack, we've spoken before about presentation & the importance of being seen to have made an effort, and yet here we are on the cusp of the main-event & you're dressed like a retro lounge-lizard. Better luck next year but then again maybe not. (Remember how it's standard practice now for prospective employers to search your name on social-media for an informal character-reference. This may well come back to bite you on the bottom yet, Jack...Just saying. Ok bye.)

      …and you’ve just encapsulated the problem with our society and voting system. A business would rather employ to meet DEI targets and create a culture of all same-minded opinions, than support someone with the bollocks to put themselves out in front of his entire community to stand for what he and many others believe.

      In Welwyn Hatfield Reform UK, we elect everyone bottom up. After this election, if I don't win, I'll need to win a primary before I can stand again. I have personally ensured that level of democracy. How the party organises itself is a matter of short-term necessity, rather than the strategic aim, and it will reform (pardon the pun) over time. I think the ship's sailed on the reputational issues, and it had nothing to do with what I was wearing, which is what I wear to work anyway as a business psychologist.

      @@ahirshfield Businesses will look for the candidate best qualified for the job because that's how you run a successful business. DEI targets merely ensure there is a wide range of folks with those qualifications to pick from, regardless of gender, race or ethnic-background. Believe it or not, this includes you too. You have a gender; a race; presumably you have an ethnic background too. Well, the good news is that you cannot be discriminated against by your employer because of these immutable characteristics. ...and yet another exposé from Channel 4 that shows bigots and racists operating in the Clacton campaign. Another investigation showing that the party is funded by the very establishment it says it stands against, whilst the two head honchos walk around with their blazers and flat caps and hunting gear as if they're landed gentry. These layabouts are the very antithesis of what it means to be British and working class. Just like the main parties, they are pulling the wool over people's eyes.

    To any Labour voters, I say what do you think Labour will do for the people that can't afford to live from week to week, who can't pay their rent, who can't afford to buy a house in most areas of the UK ? Or the rising number of people that are in a poverty trap because they can't earn enough to live and earn too much to claim benefits ? Or the rising number of foodbanks in the country, which started under Labour ? The Joseph Rowntree foundation estimates that there are at least 14.4 million people living in poverty in the UK, so what's Labour's plan for them ? This isn't the Labour party of the 70s and 80s that actually cared about the working class. It's time that we all got together and made this country a better place for everybody, not just the few; that's what Reform is offering the British people and if it takes a few years to achieve, so be it.

      @@WelwynHatfieldReformUK I'm a psychologist as well, much more useful than a psychiatrist. How do you rationalise the racism, and the fake nationalism/fake patriotism, of the people who think they are better than all other people from anywhere else? How do you straighten out the warped ideas of "love of a country", especially when they have paid no part in their conception, choice of parents, what country they are born in, what colour they are, nor what financial or social class they are born into? I've never been capable of understanding it, unless you bring in social deprivation, lack of an education, and low intellect. Just wondering.

    • @WelwynHatfieldReformUK
      @WelwynHatfieldReformUK 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Demun1649 I don't seek to rationalise any racism. It comes from fundamentally irrational heuristic processes that evolved for our survival, but which can often be misapplied in category errors, leading to oppression of other peoples. In the large majority of cases, such thinking becomes quickly unhelpful and even dangerous, as we have learnt very well from the 20th century. I would ask what the difference is that you seem to have in mind between 'real' nationalism and 'fake' nationalism. My view is that civic nationalism, as opposed to ethnic nationalism, is a good thing, and necessary for a country to sustain its identity over generations. Furthermore, the existence of nation states has been largely beneficial to the people who live in them, in contrast to some of the empires that have existed in the past. Inheritance is an important concept to keep in mind. The idea of growing up in a country, benefiting from its culture and institutions, and wanting to pass on that same culture and institutions to future generations. You need a sense of pride in your inheritance to want to do that, and in doing that, it gives one a sense of greater meaning and purpose than can be gained in purely serving themselves. Furthermore, people who voluntarily immigrate to said country often feel this sense of pride even greater than those who are born into it, because they don't take those values and institutions for granted, having often fled the lack of those values and institutions in their own birth countries. It also grants a sense of kinship with others that is more actionable and feasible to achieve than some kind of loose sense of common human identity. There is a lot of psychological research showing that feelings of association at least partly depend on sharing similar values, for instance. I think it falls upon every psychologist to try to understand these phenomena. It's our job to understand people, and not brush it off as a matter of stupidity or deprivation. If you don't understand this yet, that becomes a worthwhile challenge for you to overcome. In the same way, I endeavour to understand people of a very different viewpoint to this.
