A Few Fun Laps From The Honda Meet @ The FIRM - 4-15-23
Had camera issues all day, so this is unfortunately all I was able to capture for the day. Not my best laps here, but from a quick phone stopwatch timer, it looks like I was clicking off around 1:17.6-8. My official best for the day on the transponder was a 1:17.379, down from my previous best of 1:17.8.
The new Honed geometry kit and setup by Speed Syndicate has the car working flawlessly! Its so natural and loves to be thrown into the corner with great rotation and just a tad of controlled oversteer. Its so fun to drive now!
Before the Honed kit was introduced, this car was an absolute handful to the point where my hands and thumbs would be extremely fatigued after just a handful of laps. I had ZERO fatigue. I cant say enough good things about the car in its current state. I cant wait to go back and get that official 1:16 lap.

Not my best driving, but still ended up being my best two laps of the weekend. I picked up so much more speed in T1 on Sunday, that I was forgetting which gear I was supposed to be in for T3, hence the awkwardness..lol

Tires were getting close to being done, then they decided to give up on me right at corner entry and just went straight into wall in turn 3. Luckily drove away with only minimal cosmetic damage! PB for weekend was 2:32.

Second Session on Monday, our last session before we packed up and started heading back to Florida. Car was a bit more lively as I was getting more comfortable throwing it into the corners, unfortunately the gopro went dead only after the first lap!!!

This was the last session of the day on Saturday, but only my first session on the track since I spent the morning replacing axles. I found Jer Myers about half way through the session and started following suit. Ended up running a 1:49 chasing him down on my first lapping session at gingerman! I guess he had a good line!

This. Not drag racing. This. Real drivers know. Yes high level drag racing takes skill but this is real racing, pushing your car to the limits, understanding every weight transfer of your car and how to throttle out of sketchy spots. Nice driving mate I pray i get the chance to take my sim skills to the track

At the time of this video, I was running 205/50 RE71R. I now run 245/225, but I havent been back to Sebring with it yet.
@@TheTwanksta I made the mistake of going with external reservoir coilovers now I have to leave room on the inside for them. I can’t imagine 245’s lol.
@@RollingRoadEFI ahh man! I wouldnt have even thought of that. I will keep that in mind when the time comes to upgrade the coilovers on mine.
@@TheTwanksta They're also attached to the body of the coilover, so I can't remote mount them anywhere. Oops lol. That said I love my ER-BC's.

Guys i have a civic ec9 from 91 1.4 dual carb, i love the car but when i brake if im not really carefull it becomes really sketchy and makes me afraid of pushing the limit with it. Someone has a solution for that , should i convert to abs should i upgrade pads, disks and calipers.

I know this is an old post but what Spring Rates are you using? Im building a track EF myself and cant decide on what rates since its a street/track build. I dont mind it stiff at all I just dont want to over do it.

I have an 90 EF hatch in perfect shape. I'd argue that it's easily the best condition 90 EF Hatch SI in America and if not, it's at least top 10. I have it garage kept with still only 140k original miles on the motor. I got it from my best friends family after he unfortunately took his own life a few years ago. He always wanted to swap a K20 into it but never did. At some point, I'd like to swap a K20 into it but I've never been that good when it comes to working on cars etc. I can build computers all day, but I'm a newb when it comes to working on cars. I also don't have the 8-10 grand that I figure I'd have to spend in order to make this swap happen. I wish I could maybe get some help with a kickstarter, or possibly a go fund me or something and share my story with those who may be willing to help me make this dream come true for my dear friend Andrew. He's been gone for almost 3 years now. It was on 3.12.17 that he unfortunately took his own life after dealing with depression. 😪😰 I know he'd be happy that I got the car after he passed, but he'd probably be mad at me that it's still just sitting in the garage. I love seeing you smash around the track in your K20 swapped EF. One day I *HAVE* to make this swap happen! Until then, she rests.
I know this is an old comment, but if you have a mint EF like that please consider doing a B series swap instead of a K swap. To K swap an ef you have to cut out one of the factory engine mount brackets and weld in new one, and most of these swaps have to do some modifications to the shifter mounting area too. On the other hand, a B-swap on a completely stock EF is totally reversible, no sheet metal modifications required. There's a user on r/honda, moto234, who picked up a garage find EF Si hatch that's likely right up there with yours. Doug DeMuro did a video on it recently.
FlyHy If I had all the money in the world to spend I would love to go with a K swap even if it meant doing some modifications however I don’t have money to throw around like that so I will most likely go B series and even then I won’t be able to do it anytime soon so for now she continues to say garage kept and completely covered 👍

how did you install your shifter box? using shifter plate?
Yes, shifter plate is attached on top of the existing tunnel. We did not cut it out and mount it lower because I wanted the shifter to be up higher closer to the steering wheel level.

This was a Gridlife event. The organizations will depend on where you live, but typically NASA is a good place to start if youve never been on track before.
