Joining networks together to build multi-cloud solutions!
M5.2 | Aviatrix Cloud Perimeter Security | Secure Internet Egress
Traditional cloud provider-specific NAT gateways provide basic network address translation but lack key security features, visibility, and control. In contrast, Aviatrix integrates critical functions like URL filtering, geo-blocking, and advanced threat detection directly into the nat process.
Cloud Perimeter Security is designed for rapid, automated deployment without requiring any re-architecture of the existing cloud network. It scales automatically with traffic demands, making it ideal for global, regional, or single-application environments.

M5.2 | Aviatrix Multicloud Micro-Segmentation
มุมมอง 274 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Building on network segmentation, micro-segmentation provides even more granular control by restricting access to individual workloads or applications inside a VP see or v net. Aviatrix's micro-segmentation capabilities enable precise security perimeters around specific virtual machine, ec2 instance or kubernetes cluster in your cloud environment. This approach is particularly effective in mini...
M5.2 | Aviatrix Multi-cloud Network Segmentation
มุมมอง 134 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Aviatrix facilitates the implementation of Zero Trust through advanced network segmentation capabilities. By dividing network resources into separate segments, Aviatrix allows for finer control over traffic flows and more tailored security policies. For example in the diagram here, we have blue and green segment. Aviatrix CoPilot put some VPCs and VNETs in blue and green segment as per business...
M5.2 | Aviatrix Centralized Security Policy Benefits
มุมมอง 257 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
In a cloud environment, the best practice is to have security in distrbuted VPCs and V nets to save money, fix problems quickly, and protect applications. Aviatrix gateways are made to provide this security easily and offer extra features without needing to set up multiple instances for each service. The security governance, visibility, control and security policy, on the other hands, should be...
M5.2 | Advantages of Decentralized Security Model over Centralized Firewall Models
มุมมอง 187 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
The cloud is inherently distributed. The applications and workloads are deployed across multiple VPCs and V nets. CSP services are also available in distributed manner to support application deployment patterns. Here is the example of AWS VPC. Notice it has its own route tables, internet gateway, carrier gateways, endpoints, nat gateway, etc. If you create another AWS VPC, you will see all thos...

M4.2 | Cloud Security is Complex | Innovative Cloud Agnostic Firewall Needed | Aviatrix DCF
มุมมอง 714 วันที่ผ่านมา
In conclusion, the security in the public cloud is becoming very complex but at the same time born-in-the-cloud vendors such as Aviatrix, are also bringing innovative technologies to solve those challenges. New, different and innovative products give organizations a chance to strengthen their defenses and improve overall security posture. It also helps reduce costs. Using a distributed cloud fi...
M4.2 | The disadvantages of using a Last Generation Centralized Firewall
มุมมอง 614 วันที่ผ่านมา
Firewalls are essential for protecting the business-critical applications deployed in the cloud. Since the cloud is distributed by nature, the firewall should also be deployed in a distributed manner and close to the applications. Many customers lift and shift their legacy on-premise last-generation firewalls into the public cloud, to protect their most valuable applications. This practice is b...
M4.2 | Risk Associated with NAT Gateway | NAT Gateway for Egress
มุมมอง 1914 วันที่ผ่านมา
Internet egress security is very important to prevent data exfiltration, malware, and ransomware attacks. It helps stop unauthorized access and protects our business-critical applications. What I have seen is that, usually, customers use Network Address Translation Gateways for managing outgoing internet connections. NAT is good at saving IP addresses or translating private to public IP address...
M4.1 | Distributed Security is Must for Cloud Application Protection | Recap
มุมมอง 2014 วันที่ผ่านมา
There are 6 important concepts we discussed in this module. 1- The Public Cloud is by nature distributed, and it promotes distributed network and security designs. 2- Cloud environments are dynamic. Applications are created and destroyed every second. The IP addresses and subnets are also ephemeral, due to the rise of serverless, containerized workloads and Kubernetes. 3- Legacy security option...
M4.1 | Aviatrix Distributed Cloud Firewall follows Cloud Distributed Model
มุมมอง 1014 วันที่ผ่านมา
You need to remember that Cloud environments are inherently distributed, meaning resources and services are spread across various locations and platforms. While effective in on-premises environments, traditional centralized security models may not suffice in the cloud due to its dynamic and decentralized nature. However, there are scenarios where a centralized security approach may still be nec...
M4.1 | On Premise Security Models
มุมมอง 1114 วันที่ผ่านมา
In the past, security solutions were mainly implemented on-premises, with a focus on centralized deployment. Internet access was regarded as a highly controlled resource, and devices were typically situated within a tightly secured and centralized DMZ (demilitarized zone) to regulate Internet traffic. Organizations relied on specialized hardware security appliances like firewalls, intrusion pre...

good learning
thanks
Very helpful 🙂
thank you.
Very well explained and valid points.
Very good overview of the SAP architecture, including using the 3 most popular clouds. I especially liked the explanation of moving from R2 to R3 and the significance in network structure creation.
thanks
Great overview of CoPilot!
thank you
Excellent break down of the Dev-Ops/Network Engineer role overlap.
thanks for the comments and appreciation
How do you implement 2 x aws network firewalls in the same az and add them in active standby or active active cluster? Is there any HA link? How does stateful failover and failback happen? Where do you find an option to enable HA between aws network firewalls like we do on traditional firewalls?
Can you clarify your question please? Is it about AWS Network Firewall. A managed Firewall by AWS aws.amazon.com/network-firewall/ OR Is it about deploying 3rd Party NGFW such as Palo Alto, Check Point or Fortinet in AWS as EC2 instances in AZ
🔝💯
Excellent overview! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
😠 P r o m o S M.
I wish there would be more emphasis on the private cloud and the multi-cloud
If you search the videos on this channel, you will find lot of content covering multi-cloud for sure. Private Cloud (using VMware NSX or Cisco ACI for example) is not as popular as it was more than 7 years ago. You need to focus on Public Cloud and Networking in Public Cloud for interview questions and answers.
Nice tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!
Excellent review. Thanks!
