(Sorry if the video looks a little grey, when I rendered it out at first it was really dark so I had to render it this way) For the style of this video, I was really trying out lineless art and making backgrounds! At first I thought it was going to be 3D, then it was 2D, then it turned out to be some of the best rendered (? I'm not sure of the terminology) 3D animation I've ever seen. I can't describe how cool this is.
The backgrounds are 2D while the models are 3D so that's probably why you thought that!

You could always try SFM as well, I enjoy it and it's easy to learn.
I tried out SFM in the past but I didn't get too far into learning it all the way
