Dawson's Excellent Hunting Adventure
A nice Saskatchewan hunting video where Dawson shoots a young eight point whitetail buck with his Browning A-bolt 300 Win Mag from a brush blind.

Awesome 8 point buck taken on bare ground in northeast Saskatchewan with a Browning 300 Magnum. November 10, 2021.
excellent test
“Well, more milk jug carnage…”. Classic! I love it!

I have the exact bike and color with 5K fewer miles. I expect it will be the last bike I ever buy because at 27 years old it shows no sign of slowing down. It will probably outlive me.
I have the same bike and BOY, that gearing is so tall. I came from a shadow ace 750 and where 5th gear starts to buzz (65-70), the 1100 is barely hitting 4th gear. These bikes were MADE for the highway.
I have a 1999 full dress VT1100 Spirit I do a lot of driving long range.
hammer down beats that lever evolution in actual gel tests
how's the recoil?
I don’t find the recoil too bad. Definitely less than the 45-70. A bit more than a .308. I only notice it when bench shooting numerous rounds wearing just a t-shirt. When hunting it’s one shot and I have more clothes covering the shoulder, etc.
My favourite sort of video
Thanks!
100 yds My groupings with a Savage Hunter 110 is tighter and I dont do much shooting.
Good
Five o’clock?
nice.
I've a. 2000 I tweaked it a bit

What is the maximum speed you can drive on a highway that is safe for the engine during long drives?
I can’t really answer that. It goes well over the speed limit anyways.
The best bike ever❤ Look gooood and motor ist so cool. Great choice.
It really is!
Do fork oil every 2 years.
Good idea!
I have the same exact bike, same year. But mine is black. I like your luggage bag and fork bag. Can you provide me with their links and/ or descriptions? Thank you!
Hi there. I don’t have this bike anymore but I think the bag on the back was made by Saddleman. Not sure of the front
mantap brother...keren suatu hari saya pun bisa mengendarainya...trims sudah berbagi
Thank you for watching
Looking at this exact bike, 27k miles. Would that be an issue as far as you know?
That amount of mileage shouldn’t be an issue at all.
best looking bike ever made !!!!!!
They are very nice
Very nice walk-around of your GoldWing and your town. I just bought my first ever GoldWing (97 1500GL Aspencade). I look forward to more of your videos.
Thank you very much
Please mention what State you are in ??
The great state (or province actually) of Saskatchewan, Canada
Any shadow 1100 owners fill me on how these do on the highway, I ride ab 60 miles round trip commute and wondering how these do at 70-85 mph for a few miles
They definitely go 70-85 mph but 65 is a lot more laid back
I have a '02 shadow sabre 1100 Great for everyday commuting, and plenty highway power to get up and go.
Where did you get your high way pegs
They were on it when I bought it, but I believe they are a kuryakyn brand so fortnine would be a good place to order them from.
nice video. should've opened it up on the wide stretch. my spirit will do 110mph (177 kph). I changed the carb jets. gas mileage suffers though. but worth it!.... punch up on youtube.....2001 honda shadow 1100.
Cool, thanks
For long-distance traveling, you can't beat a goldwing. I have an 1800 goldwing, but I think the 1500 is more comfortable
1800s look pretty nice. I’ve never ridden one. I’ve heard the 15’s are a bit more comfy but the 18’s are sportier with a bit more power. There’s probably some truth to that.
I’m 22 and I love my sport bikes I do but I’d rather ride my shadow all day long more comfortable for sure. I’ll get off the gsxr and my back feels like it’s broken
I’ve never actually ridden a sport bike. I used to think the cbr1000 hurricane was about the baddest thing. Had a poster of one in black and red. Maybe one day.
me, 6' 2" 210 lbs. The Shadow fits me well except I like some sort of backrest. After a few hours I find myself hanging on the bars for support. My bike has been flawless for several years. Not too big on power but will last for years and years.
They are definitely a good bike
this is literally my dream bike, that model and color. I wish i had the money to just get one
That’s awesome. Don’t give up! Keep up your dream! I first saw these shadow 1100s back in 2000. I wanted one for 21 years before I bought this one. It’s is a good bike, there are lots of them out there and they will continue to be out there. Plus they are one of the most affordable 1100 cc cruisers out there. Thanks for watching and take care!
Thanks for taking us for a ride around your beautiful town.
Glad you enjoyed it
About to buy one so I enjoyed your comments and video. Done with Harley’s. 72 years old but want to keep riding.
Thanks for the like. I guess I’m at a different stage. I bought a Harley and let this shadow go. But no regrets about the Shadow. Just wanted to own a Harley before they’re a thing of the past. The newer ones don’t do it for me.
Nice buck Dawson👍
Thanks!
Congratulations Dawson
Thanks!
This was a great ride, thank you from South Africa. Stunning bike too.
Wow! South Africa. Thank you!
I have a 1999 Shadow Spirit 1100. Love it so far. But how does it feel with the highway windshield? Thinking about getting one myself for longer rides.
The windshield is really nice on the highway. Removes all of the forceful wind and replaced it with some gentle breeze coming off of your hands, mirrors and legs. I still wear an open face helmet with a pull down visor on the highway.
@@hunterdonn6835 thanks for the reply. I'll better get my hands on a windshield then!
Just be sure to watch a few videos on picking one the right height to get the best experience out of it
Great video, I ride Shadow 1100 from 1990 and it's a 4 speed version with a little bit more power. But quite frankly it moves and sounds just like yours. Great bikes very dependable. If you find handlebar from the ACE model try it it makes it even more comfortable and in my mind it looks better with it
Thanks for the tip!
That's nice day, great views, no traffic and wonderful bike.
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
They look like a 2 wheeled armchair. Don't forget your slippers when you go out riding.
A good sturdy pair of boots is always nice for walking the beast around when it’s stopped.
Looks about what my tikka does, t3x lite in 22-250
Yeah they’re a pretty nice rifle

Awesome motorcycle! I have the same year, same color as yours. Still running great after 10 years ownership.
Good to hear!
Try different ammunition mine is flavored in .308 it loves to eat hornady superformance 165cx .5 groups at 100 all day.
I might try that sometime. It really isn’t much more $ than the regular soft points. I particularly was interested in the superformance 178 gr eld-x precision hunter rounds. I have a lot of boxes of my current stuff though. Plus some Sako 180 gr soft points. To use as well. We’ll see. Maybe I’ll try it out for a video or something.
20lb limit? Nice ride👊
Yes there is a 20 lb limit recommended in the manual. That is 20 lbs for the trunk plus 20 lbs for each pannier or saddle bag. When I say 50 lbs that’s all three. I was also thinking after making the video, it’s probably not actually 50lbs. But it’s a good point. I hadn’t seen the limits until your comment and then I had to go look it up.
How is your Gold Wing during low-speed maneuvers?
It’s alright it is a noticeably big bike wheeling around slow. My Road King is definitely easier. I’m not good like that Ride Like a Pro Jerry guy but I practice my u-turns and do parking lots just fine. It’s manageable.
A balanced reply.
The stereo is not loud becasue you have the front speakers totally destroyed.
You are correct
How much does it lbs with scope is it around 6 lbs 🤔 carry a 10lbs rifle all day will get to me. Not yung no more and after a bad motorcycle accident just can't wak the same for miles just in pain and not good the next day. I need lighter rifle but like the Old 30-06 for mule deer 🦌 and Elk in northern New Mexico. Like the SS look all wether.
This rifle is a T3 hunter stainless which means it has a wood stock with a stainless barrel and receiver. It seems fairly light to me. I would guesstimate it is about 6.5 lbs not counting the scope. Tikka makes the T3 light and now the T3X light which has a synthetic stock and they might be a tad lighter but I like the one I got because it is so well balanced. I feel if the stock were lighter the barrel would make it more forward heavy which I don’t like in a rifle.
How far Can It shoot lead?
I have only shot it so far at ranges of about 20-25 yds. It can obviously shoot farther than that but I haven’t done it yet. I have a a 20 gauge Remington 870 youth model with a 20 or 22 inch barrel and a modified choke. It shoots a wider pattern than this .410 at the same range.
