Mine is still like new, but I rinse 🚿 them every time after saltwater fishing 🎣 I believe my local tackle shops work on Daiwa reels, Fish’n fools and Bob Sands. They can’t service the bearings that have the Magseal, so they have to order them, I believe they get them from Japan, but not sure if those go bad, usually the spool bearings go bad, I want to upgrade mine on another JDM Daiwa I own to Boca bearings. I don’t have any experience with them, but people who work on reels recommended them to me a few times. In your opinion, was this reel worth it? Also what did you use it for mainly? Saltwater ? Curious why it’s tired 😎🎣👍

@dragsmoothfishingtv635 mine is getting noisy and I've had it for almost 5 years now. Very minimal maintenance freshwater bass fishing. I've used it from frogs and braid to 2 Oz baits and caught hundreds of largemouth in my kayak with it. I love the reel though and just want to replace the bearings.

Ask your local tackle shops, most reel guys will definitely work on them, I’m sure they have plenty of JDM reels and love them like you and I. Happy holidays 🎣👍

It’s it’s a inshore saltwater reel with sealed bearings. I been using it for years without any issue in saltwater and freshwater dirty ponds and I just use Salt away spray when I get home and rinse 🚿 it with a hose in my yard slightly, wipe it down with a microfiber cloth from the local auto zone or Walmart and they stay looking 👀 good and perform great 👍 every time I’m out fishing 🎣 Definitely recommend anytime you can get a zillion reel. I had a Zillion SV which I sold to a friend because he wouldn’t stop asking me for it, and I definitely regret it.

I broke it, I hit it so much ? This video was made years ago and that reel is still like 👍 brand New. It’s not a trophy 🏆 It’s a fishing 🎣 reel I used for years in the saltwater and it’s smooth as it was the day I made that video. This video is not about me, it’s about the reel, and it’s not made out of paper. I don’t think 🤔 E46 M3 is reliable, or any BMW or Mercedes. But they are as reliable as they can be. I prefer the SMG compared to Manual, but mine was updated to the CSL shift timing, CSL M dynamic mode, also launch control up to 5k RPM. On top of that I had Motorsports engine mount and transmission mounts which were extremely expensive at $1000, don’t remember Turner motorsports or bimmerworld but my car was extremely upgraded. I had a carbon fiber 1 piece driveshaft, which made the car smoother and much better at 1/2/3 gear pulls as it was lighter and similar to having a lighter flywheel. I also had a aluminum flywheel with a stage 3.5 steel clutch which was not smooth and it blew up after 15k miles, so I replaced it back to factory clutch and flywheel again and problem was fixed. Also had 3.71 polished gears ⚙️ with a 1.5 turn LSD by Carbonetic Carbon clutch with 5 discs. Once you start doing upgrades it starts making the car even worse at being reliable. I think the factory LSD is perfect for a daily driver but if you are building a track car then upgrading the diff or the drivetrain is a must. Over all the pump for the SMG lasted me 95 thousand miles so I was happy especially since I had the car since it was brand new. Hands down my favorite car of all time. I owned 2 of those, also owned a 1999 E36 M3 cabriolet European version which had more power then US spec cars. Owned 2 E92 M3 as well, 1 was a 2011 competition package. Lastly owned a BMW M4 which was extremely fast and addictive in its pulls, again mine was a Gintani tuned with a Downpipe and exhaust and had more close to 550 horsepower, However none of them had the soul of the E46 M3, were not as track focused, but to be fair I didn’t spend as much money on the others as I had on the E46 M3. This M3 I crashed and it saved my life being a Tank that it was. If you are going to crash then that car was extremely safe. I totaled 3 parked cars, walked away with a seatbelt bruise. I was sad to have destroyed my car, but I was glad no one was hurt and I didn’t kill myself. All this said, car was extremely it reliable, I can’t tell you how many times I came back home in a tow truck and how much money I spent at the mechanic shops. BMW stands for Break My Wallet 😂🤣🍺🍺 If you plan on buying this car, hope you don’t plan to drive a lot, because it’s extremely expensive to maintain. Nothing is cheap about this car, from oil change to upgrading parts. It was somewhat cheaper then my C32 AMG as the brakes and oil change was even more expensive on that car. But my BMW had 6 piston Stoptech Trophy Cups so they were expensive again to maintain and extremely good for the track days. Extremely fun car if money is not a problem for maintenance and upgrades. 🇺🇸🍺🍺😎👍👌

@@emmpak After about 40k miles from factory the subframe had a crack, and it was fixed by BMW North America, I was offered all my money back or the car fixed completely, I loved the car at the time back in 2006 so I definitely wanted to keep the car. They kept my car for 3 months and told me the subframe was completely replaced professionally, but a few years later in 2008 I took my car to Horsepower Freaks in Oregon, and they welded my Subframe and added reinforcement plates everywhere. It had racing black polyurethane bushings for subframe and all the rest of the bushings as well, like the trailing arm bushing and I had custom control arms and upper bushings as well. My car was a track day car, but I loved having a cabriolet because I enjoyed more driving in the canyons, so the loud exhaust noise from the fabspeed headers and section 1no cats, then supersprint section 2 resonated, to a Active autowerke racing muffler. The car was a beast, but I had over $40k on tops of the cars value into the entire car. Of course labor was not cheap as most of the work I had the professional mechanics I knew to do on the car, and I only did minor work on the car. However at one time we took everything apart when I blew my first motor on the track, and we bought a new engine and had it completely built, which made the engine extremely reliable. If your not married or have kids, she will definitely be a perfect car. But wife and kids are expensive lol 😂, so the car wasn’t getting enough attention or love at the end 💰. I would definitely buy another SMG E46, preferably a competition package and a 2006 model. Comp package has a better and quicker steering ration which is awesome for track days and canyons, and just to buy that rack and pinion would be 2 thousand extra and that’s not including labor to make sure it fits the regular E46 M3. Also competition has better brake system which is not needed to upgrade at all, maybe better pads and better brake fluid for the track days only but overall it’s a more track focused car. I had all the extras done to my car which costed me a lot of money, and only reason was they don’t have a competition model in a Cabriolet, so I had to work with what I had. Plus the cabriolet gave me lots of problems with the soft top, and yes I had the hard tip shell for the track which was a rollcage pretty much, but it was about 300 pounds heavier then your competition package hardtop from factory, and that’s like being 30 horsepower down when your 300 pounds over the. That’s place is a dear place to my hear. I grew up fishing that lake, the river in the back, it’s right by my house, unfortunately there are plenty of disrespectful people, every person has a camera and you can not get mad at anyone or you will be the angry guy on TH-cam, however this made it easier to skumbags to get away with things and use the Good American laws and nature to their advantage. Back in the days people used to fight, so there was always some fear in their mind that thy can get their buds kicked, today they get their buds kicked you go to jail and they get money and a green card lol. Tight lines and we hope maybe the fishing Game will come by once a week or twice to keep them Googans out of that place. Most people don’t even have a fishing license fishing that lake. Future is not looking bright unfortunately

FactoryToe1982 I used to fish there once a month when I had the whaler, then the guy in the video took it off my hand because he fishes a lot more in Saltwater then most people, now I have a small 14 foot Aluminum Lowe and it’s only good for freshwater. D-Smooth Fishing TV thanks yeah last week I caught a few 2 pound sand bass. I work at hanjin on the weekends so I fish right from the rocks on my break . They usually bite hard in evening and in the early morning .

Ron C you should try Action Tackle, I’m Sure you already know Bob Sands tackle store, also a really good one is Fish N Fools tackle in Northridge I believe. Lake Balboa is great, I only fished there this year a hand full of times, but always with success. It’s sad about the trout and I hear you, but we have some nice trout fishing Up north Bishop or Mammoth lakes. Thank GOD for that. I also like Castaic and Pyramid lake, but my favorite will always be inshore Saltwater Fishing. Specially fun at Long Beach and Newport Harbor. McCloud river - Ash Camp to Ah-De-Na Camp - & Pyramid Lake near Reno were good [16-20"], Owens was hit 'n miss (flows were over 320 CFS in some spots, making it difficult to fish trout, and above Crowley was very crowded, 12-16"), W. Walker is running over 1k CFS, and E. Walker just went up to 7/800 CFS due to snow melt). So hopefully things will improve over the next week or two so I can take my fly rod back out!

Paddle Tales I like it a lot. It’s compact, and really good for weightless plastics. Also likes light line for a bait-caster, so I use 30 pound braid to a fluorocarbon leader

Sean Foo they are made in Thailand. Steezy are made in Japan, this one is a Tatula but just a JDM version meaning available in Japan and that area, Asian market. Has a different handle and paint Job, difference color T wing and 1 less ball bearing I believe them the US version. I’m not much a Reel Mechanic so I never take them apart to really see the difference in the internals Versus USA version or any other reel. I still own it today and still get to use it, for both Saltwater and Freshwater they have proven to be great reels. I like these Daiwa reels because it makes Casting very easy even for people who don’t like Baitcasters a lot, I used to use nothing but spinning for 5 years, and had a few baitcasters from shimano and Abu, but I never like the breaking system, lost my side plate in the ocean once cause of the wave and I was trying to mess with the breaks to get it not to back lash, anyways if I didn’t purchase my first Daiwa Tatula Type R100 baitcaster, I still would hate these reels and use nothing but spinning, but ever since I have the Daiwa Tatula reels, life has been easy and simple and fishing more fun.

SlumpJesus yes it’s made for Saltwater and Freshwater. Daiwa makes most their expensive reels with 2 saltwater bearings and some cases even MagSealed which is a Magnetic Oil which seals again salt, sand and anything else that can mess up your reel. As for longevity I have used one since 2015 and it works perfect today for fresh and Saltwater, In fact it’s my favorite reel even now. I use Salt Away by West Marine to clean my fishing rods and reel after a Saltwater session.

I understand people want to eat fish, but people will eat anything as long as it’s free, dogs, cats, we can’t stop them from eating fish. I was at Newport 1 week ago, and a Asian older guy got a ticket for keeping a short barracuda, and that’s like $800. If people don’t care for a ticket and are willing to risk it, there is nothing I can do about it. Derby sounds really fun in Newport. Will you be on personal boats, rentals or shore fishing? Octavio Fuentes I never fish that lake Without a drop Shot. Don’t use anything less then 10 pound fluorocarbon line. You never need 4lb test for bass. They are not line shy fish. I have caught big largemouth bass in the clearest water with 50 pound straight braid without any leader. Reason why I did this? Sure I broke off a 10 plus pounder on 25 pound fluorocarbon line, more then one occasion. I broke off 50 pound braid 3 times in 2 weeks in front of my friends while fishing in a pond and casting over the toolies to get a bite. Drop shot I always exclusively use 12 pound fluorocarbon line, advice? Yes use the best fluorocarbon line money can buy, seaguar tatsu 100 percent #1 line, # 2 I like regular cheaper Pline fluorocarbon line, but mainly the Tatsu because it’s like silk, it’s smooth and soft and it doesn’t coil up most importantly. Texas Rig is a must for shallow water bed fishing as well, almost always at least 20 pound line, Seaguar Abrazx. You only need 4 brands of baits ever, Zoom, Strike King, Roboworm(must), Yamamoto(must). The drop shot I have a video on how to Rig it, I like to use a smallest flipping Hook possible, #2. #1. 1/0, weight? Always the lightest you can get away with, but since you will be bed fishing, 1/8oz is key, nothing else, as you will be fishing shallow water, but Castaic is a deep lake, and drop shot is also key. Sure you can catch them on a Jig, crankbait, jerkbait, top water, I love to use swimbaits Texas Rigged. This lake has lots of brush and things to hung up your line, so weedless rigging is much better and maximizing casts by not braking off your line and discouraging you from fishing a productive area.
