That photo behind the video is from a gig at the now defunct Cricketer's Arms in The Oval, London - I recognise the mural on the wall. A great little venue. Saw the Glitter Band play there - Pete, Gerry, John and Eddie Spence, and they announced it was John's last gig with them - he was off to Spain or somewhere shortly after. That would have been a year or 2 before this interview I guess. Great gig on the night, and Gerry and Pete were at the bar before the gig just chatting with fans. Nice to hear Gerry's voice; sad he died far too early.

He sounds like a nice man. I wonder when this interview is from. I couldn’t help noticing how he didn’t say anything about Gary Glitters notoriety, but he did mention Gary Glitter throwing his toys out of the pram when the Glitter Band went their own way. I wonder if this interview was recorded before 1997.

Lovely bloke, I remember being 15 and after a london gig our friends brother was very very late picking us up, so late in fact, we saw Gerry leaving with Harvey driving and he got Harvey to stop the car and ask if we were ok because it was so late. He chatted with us for a while and I'm sad to say, Harvey just scowled in the front and refused to speak to us, Gerry was quite embarrassed. We also saw John Springate leaving who also stopped and chatted to us because it was so late. Lovely memories

I have a signed photo of the Glitter Band from the late 80's when they played at the Warmingham Grange nightclub in Cheshire. When they'd finished their set, my friends encouraged me to do my Gary Glitter impression. By this time the DJ was front and centre and he had one of GG's original costumes which I was 'persuaded' to put on. The DJ played 'Rock & Roll Part 3' while I mimed my 'performance'. The funny thing was, everyone over the age of 30 (I was 29/30 myself at the time) was cheering me on, but everyone under that age were cringing. The band presented me with the signed photo afterwards. The next morning I awoke (alone) and after a short pause, wept with embarrassment. A happy memory I wouldn't change for the world. My 'three minutes of fame', as they say. ;)

Just found Pete Phipps and the Glitter Band about 6 months ago. (The beginning of 2023) Great Band and awesome drummer with many other talents! 🥁🎤

Gerry Shepphard was a PHENOMENAL Singer/Songwriter who wrote jointly with John Rossall all of the Glitter Band songs and also wrote jointly with Gary Glitter plus wrote songs for other Artists 🤗❤️🤗

Who ever said that the Glitter Band invited under age girls back to their hotel.i was friends with the boys back in the 70s I stayed at KingsLynn where Tony Leonard was living many times from1973. I never saw anything concerning under age girls but what I will say they were totally different times. I was 14 years of age and two girls in my class were dating guys with cars. I saw one of them come out of a pub one night and she looked older than her 20 year old sister. When I saw her at school on the following Monday she told me that she told the guy that she was a secretary working in London. This was going on all the time in the 60s/70s,I never heard of a guy asking to check a girls birth certificate😂.......totally different times, the Gary Glitter thing is a totally different thing and as you all know the band suffered severely because of his disgusting behaviour, the man couldn't even control him self in a hostel. Anyone who says bring him back are as sick as Glitter is himself, perhaps you could tell his victims that. YOU MORONS 🤮🖕

A HEY!!!! HEY!!!! HEY!!!!! The Glitter Band were the original pioneers of the Heavy Tribal drum sound!; echo fuzz guitar riffs; Elongated Hand claps and Football Terrace type Chanting. SOUND FAMILIAR ? MOST of the so called Indie Bands of the 80's (Post Punk, New romantic and New wave bands and a few Punk bands ) and Heavy Metal and Rock bands were influenced by the Glitter Band sound. Adam and the Ants Revived the Glitter Band sound and dressed it up with Wild West and Pirate overtones. Killing Joke used many Glitter Band Rythms and the Human League too as well as The Originsl Mirrors, 1919, Comsat Angels, Chron Gen and Infa Riot. The list of Bands is endless.

What a great interview with a great person the late great Gerry shephard it is lovely to hear him speak it is a shame we lost him to soon he may be gone but he is not forgotten I still love this great person I grew up with him and the rest of the band.R.I.P Gerry.

Got this CD just about month ago it is now on my phone for me to listen to whenever I am out and have five minutes to spare was always a fan of John and Gerry ìn the glitter band it is great John is still singing but it is a great loss that we had to lose Gerry rip mate .

Just got this CD what a great CD full of really wonderful songs just shows that John and Gerry never lost that talent for writing hit songs together just a shame we lost Gerry r I p mate

The glitter band spent 20 years in the wilderness because of Gary Glitter, they had no idea just like the rest of us at the time, they are not guilty and suffered a lot of collateral damage because of Gary and they did not deserve it
