Yes it is. Here Jonas was running a drone through it. The drone was generated by a Yamaha QY10 sequencer programmed to run for about two hours mainly on two notes Root and Fifth with some coloring notes around them and dynamics.
I've heard this album a thousand times... I can sing every note when I listen to it. It's an absolute masterpiece! What a privilege to be able to see video footage of the performance. Thank your for this and for all of your work Jonas.. cheers from Canada.

What pedal/effect is on his bass to make it sound like that? Jonas is the reason I purchased a bass after listening to Rag B/B an infinite amount of times.
For a start both bass players are using Wal basses which have a unique character of their own. Very special pickups and preamp but you can get very close to that tone by having something built or modified similar. In the very beginning an octave pedal is being used on the 5 string. Around the 1-minute mark the guy with the double neck sounds like he's using an envelope filter (auto wah). Plenty of distortion while playing on the bridge pickup as his bass only has bridge pickups with a bit of palm muting will get you close to that heavier sound. The sinth stuff over the top of that I've no idea
Any Boss multieffect bass pedal will do .

I think the top Wal has Midi. The distorted part sounds an octave higher and there is a string sound added.
