  • @OneZoNinja
    @OneZoNinja ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah that bike really turns in good. In most cases your kinda fighting against it, suggesting you weren't going fast enough for the turn for it to be natural. The throttle is very on , or off, it's twitchy for sure gotta keep it steady in the turns or you'll feel that sudden engine brake.

    • @marcuslee2026
      @marcuslee2026 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah! From what I remember, even going at slow speeds, the bike turned in very nicely. With the snatchy throttle, I assume that's the fuel cutoff too. A flash and tune will fix that while giving it more mid-power. I only got up to 50 mph, so it wasn't the best environment to test the bike. However, I'm super excited for this coming season because perhaps I'll meet some people who have this bike and will let me ride it. Thanks for watching!

    These bikes don't go anywhere before 8K rpms. I own one and have ridden the R3; the R3 has punch sort of everywhere, but if you're willing to wring out the 400 it does feel faster overall. Not by MUCH, mind you; it's still a small CC bike

    • @marcuslee2026
      @marcuslee2026 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I remember, I did have to wring it out to get her going. I think I'd just really enjoy more of the supersport positioning, even though most of the smaller CC bikes are pretty much upright. I'm making it my goal to go to the track this year, but we'll see! I may just head over there with my MT03!

    • @BahhJustaLamb
      @BahhJustaLamb ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marcuslee2026 these are great bikes. I actually got the 400 over other stuff because unlike you, I LIKE being upright 😂 So I wanted the comfortable position, but didn’t want the weight of the 650 so I got the 400 and never looked back. Considering it’s short an entire ninja 250 on displacement, the 400 really isn’t all that much slower than the 650

    • @marcuslee2026
      @marcuslee2026 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BahhJustaLamb Haha! Maybe I'm a glutten for uncomfortableness. If I can trade for a Ninja 400, that'd be awesome. Even though the 650 is considered a sport touring, but also a beginner bike, the consensus is that the power-to-weight ratio is more enjoyable on the 400. Thanks for your thoughts on it! I'm glad you've enjoyed being on the 400. Makes me want it even more haha.

    • @BahhJustaLamb
      @BahhJustaLamb ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marcuslee2026 If you get a chance to own a Ninja 400, I'd highly recommend it. It's an inexpensive way to get into a fully faired sportbike with some grunt. I agree on the "enjoyable"ness of the 400 versus the 650. 650 gives you a nice strong torque shove at the beginning, but it does not like to be revved out. Feels more "car-like" than I'd prefer. The 400 doesn't have much bottom end but will keep pulling harder and harder through the rev range, which is also a whopping 2000RPM higher than a 650. In any case, the 400 will likely be my forever bike. Love at first sight and I don't need any more power than it's got!

    An interesting test ride, I agree about the riding position on the R7, one minute of just sitting on it put me off buying one. I’ve recently downsized to an MT03 after riding much larger bikes. It’s much more fun. The power of anything larger than about 500cc is wasted on the roads over here in England. I find that all the performance of the 03 can be used relatively safely. Over 5000 rpm the bike comes alive and great fun can be had. Larger bikes also come with extra weight, the MT 03 is brilliant in that respect, it’s nimble on the move and super easy to move around. The only other bike I’d consider is the R3. Interesting to know the Z400 is not streets ahead ahead of the Yamaha. Look forward to seeing more test rides and to see what bike replaces the MT03, best wishes.

    • @marcuslee2026
      @marcuslee2026 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the R7 is so committed to the super sport but the power is just like the MT07 (because it is the MT07 CP2 haha). When riding the ZX6R and comparing the two, I think as a less experienced rider I may want to just go all in with an inline 4 engine for the supersport ergos. On the other hand, I LOVE my MT03. I've recently moved and will hopefully be getting a video update on how my bike is doing . Thanks for stopping by. Be safe and thanks for stopping by!

    • @marcuslee2026
      @marcuslee2026 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching Z!! Congratulations on getting your license and welcome to the 2-wheeled world! You'll love it. Keep in mind that this bike, the ZX6R and the Ninja 650 are completely different bikes even though they have the same displacement. I don't typically recommend inline-4 (referring to the 4 cylinder engine configuration) as first bikes because fresh out the box, they are very snatchy (opening and closing the throttle will be abrupt) until you start developing your wrist motion. Also, they are heavier than smaller CC bikes. I even said that I was a little intimidated while putting my foot down like I normally do, and this could be a problem if your slow speed maneuvers aren't great. That being said, if you're in the United States, you can start on any bike. Just be thoughtful of who you are, consider your maturity, riding goals, and your pockets (these things can get expensive if you're young like me). Whatever bike you get as your first, you'll always love it, but it won't be your forever bike!
