It’s crazy watching these guys I feel such honor and esteem growing up with these young men… at the end of the video look at the loss that Mr. Tapia takes and how he handles it, bowing his salute to the crowd like all traditional fighters did back in that day… A lesson was taught by Mr. Gomez from Denver. Tapia accepted the lesson, took his loss, but not a chink of armor was missing afterwards congratulations to all the fighters from those days who grew up to be quality gentleman, and salute to those young men that never lived on or made it.

This was the 1987 silver Globe nationals in Kingsport Tennessee. I fought the same tournament back in 87. I remember sparing him and he got mad because i chose to fight back but no biggie i took the pane he faught hard but never could get me down. But i was a big boy at 13 i was 190 and Charles was lik 140. But it was fun and i miss getting in that ring. If i could go back in time i would go back to that day when i was sparing him.

Riley had the hardest overhand right. It was fun training with them sometimes jonnhy would show up and train with us. I miss them good old days. If I could go back in time I would go back to this when I was sparing rileys brother Charles. When I was 13 years old I'm 51 now Riley should be about 57 58 same age as jonnhy

This is the part of boxing that is truly missed. Two local, run of the mill fighters going toe to toe in small venues. Family and friends make up the crowd, and no biased commentary. Takes me back.
