HAHAJA!JAJAJA! The sound of the sixties! Very very 60s to very early 70s vibes. A time when there was no internet, no cable tv, no virtual reality games, women were more conservative, hospitals were scarier, stricter school policies with teachers more physical in pupil discipline, longer class hours in school even in grade school, factory air conditioning was not yet available to many cars, etc. My childhood. ( I was born in 1971) Those were the days. Kids of today are very fortunate. I too was an avid fan of Sesame Street and I clearly remember this baker numbers clip.
I was born in 1978 and grew up in the 80s and they still showed all these bits. So for me it’s early 80s memories. Good stuff either way. You grew up in a good time and so did I, still before most of the things you mentioned.
Looking at this video brings tears to my eyes because it brings back memories of my childhood it also lets me know how to appreciate my youth even though I'm older now
Probably because the baker only had two pies, and since pies are pretty small, compared to root beer floats,or wedding cakes(as seen in the rare baker 1 film),is why the bakery does not end up nearly as messy at the end, after the baker falls.
I dig that, but I guess was kind of disappointed he didn't wind up with one of those pies in his face, because any kind of cream pie is guaranteed to be in someone's face when it comes to comedic pratfalls. Oh well.
The picture of the man with two heads that the little boy drew? Unfortunately, several seasons later on, a creepy puppet with two heads thanks to Richard and Jerry would accidentally be created by Mid Season Nine to Permanently. Why Jim let them talk him into creating that poor excuse for a monster? I have no idea.
I remember the two headed puppet monster, and yes, you're right,it was in the late 1970s when it made its debut, not long before I stopped watching Sesame Street.
Probably because that eventually you grew up to become a more mature adult than I am. I couldn't outgrow nor even stop watching Sesame Street when I was even a teenager. It was too adictive to me. I really am glad that you stopped watching Sesame Street before The Two Headed Monster made its debut. Not to mention being stronger and more of adult because I don't anybody to ever be in my shoes and let something painful in their lives get the absolute best of them.
The nail biting anticipation to guess what number it was going to be and the joy of watching a guy fall down the stairs with pies. A generation of kids who like to gamble and dig schadenfreude...or is that just me?
I can also remember being disappointed, after learning the number of the day was either 11 or 12, because I knew just what that would spell-no baker film(since,of,course, the number of the day only went as high as 10,when the show premiered.) Two baker films were featured in the premiere episode, the 2 and 3 films.
MrJamieMurph4141969 Truly. On another note abut 2 weeks ago I saw a man coming out of a local pastry shop carrying too many boxes - and at least one large cake in a poorly constructed box(presumably for a graduation party)...yep you guessed it! Part of me was like OMG that poor guy, stupid for carrying all of that stuff and not making 2 trips, but still felt bad. The other part, my inner 5 year old was flashing back to the Sesame St. Baker sequence. It never gets old. :-)
You can hear the snaps and pops in the film if you listen close.😊

Happy Two’s-Day!
So long since I saw that
A small piece o f this clip was in Won't You Be My Neighbor.
The girl showing two butterflies - Isn't she the same girl whose toes were counted in the "Baker #10" clip?
Umm, I think old.🤔🤔🤔

That one wasn't as messy as some of the others.

+ Dream Dancer 82 that is because there were small and that it was the cleanest Spills of all

1,4,7,9 and 10 are super messy!
