Love your 1954 Jeep!,....Cool beans! Ha!......In 1972,....my friend resurrected a 1940s, WW2 Jeep, (split window) that had been used by a municipality in Southern Ohio as a road maintenance service vehicle. It had sat for years in the weeds, abandoned. It may have even been submerged in a bog. Buried is peat, basically. My friend resurrected it, & several other WW2 vehicles that had been repurposed for utility work, like a troop carrier. My buddy was a self taught auto mechanic. There wasn't a machine or engine, he couldn't tear down and rebuild, and get back into service. He rescued a buried 1920s CAT Dozer, a 1920s (portable) saw mill, and many 1900s era printing presses. He even had a pre Civil War Steam engine power plant, he knew he could restore, and get running. That old Jeep he restored, he used it to help him build his cabin from the trees he felled on his property. Using the rear PTO, he (rigged) it up to run his antique portable saw mill. He also cut logs to make rail road ties, as a side business.
