I have something to tell everyone. Whoever reading this comment if you area a Btech holder in any stream other than Fire & safety engineering please don't go for Nebosh IGC or HSE field. Rather go for a career in your own stream. In industries an HSE engineer with Btech fire and safety will be valued rather than a Btech holder in ME,EEE,EC. This is because nowadays There are many institutions who are giving IGC by just paying them money & a hell lot of recommendations and politics in companies. To have a career growth in HSE field nowadays has became a high tension procedure due to the blind recommendations and politics.For most of the companies these recommendations work out only in safety field because it does not demand a technical skill. Major construction field just concentrate on housekeeping, barrication and signages. The unsafe acts are unbearable for the eyes to see. In my experience I have seen many people with BTech ME,EEE,EC working as safety officer under supervisors or leads who has not even gone to college, all they have is senior management support or politically strong , company also supports them because a less skilled man when given a senior position will not have much demands and the job is also pressure less, most importantly he will stay his entire life in that company as he is not capable to attend a interview and get another job. And even after working for several years if a Btech employee asks for a hike or promotion these kind of supervisors or leads will not forward this to senior management or HR, instead they play shitty games and the employee himself resigns and leave as they feel under valued, they always keep them in site , tasks will be alloted in such a way that foreman type tasks given to Btech graduate and lead's lovables will trained for documentations. Many guys working in HSE are now facing this problems. Many companies nowadays don't consider Btech for HSE dept as they will demand for a high salary and good working culture. So all technical graduates upskill yourself with core engineering exposures otherwise a career growth that you guys had dreamed of will not be attainable.
