LOVE IS WHY!
We don’t do something unless we have a reason for doing it. The reason why we do what we do is simple… love.
God came to us as our Savior, died on the cross to extinguish our sin, and rose again in power over death because of His love for us! That great love is why we choose everyday to love God and to love others. Love is why.
We invite you to experience this love! Bring your doubts and know that we are a church full of real people seeking to be real with God and with one another.

SDA…But EGW🤦♂️
A great beginning to such an awesome week of remembering EXACTLY what our God and Saviour did for us!
Thanks for this message. You made everything so clear to me. These verses did confuse me. Love My Church so much!
I like the introduction of the family memorizing the Scripture. That’s amazing! I wished the pastor didn’t go around the same thing over and over. Once you make your point, I’m ready to hear what’s next. Thanks!
I'm unable to attend because I moved to Clinton & I'm very much disappointed
Awesome job Matthew !
This is litterally him blaming us, thanks - (i am a gay trans man)
Will not go to this church again after this, i am not Christian
So excited to hear this series play out, both in our church and through the events happening all throughout the world. Praying for Israel, the nation, and also every Christian Jew and Palestinian that will be effected.
Well, I feel just a little better since I knew the answers this time… after totally blanking on stage the first week 😂
Thanks for all your efforts put into these videos. I appreciate Christway’s vision and importance of getting everyone into the Word of God.
It’s interesting to note that the disciples did not yet understand the scripture that foretold thatJesus would rise. They didn’t accept all of Jesus’ teachings at this point.
The Catholic Church put together the cannon of the Bible. The Bible is a Catholic book. The cannon was chosen from bishops in an ecumenical council. All of which have apostolic succession, from the disciples. And the Catholic Church still has that. The Protestants removed 7 books from the Bible. Only in the Old Testament. However if it would’ve been Martin Luther’s way, he wanted to remove James, Revelation, Hebrews, and Jude. If the Bible was made by God, and Catholicism is corrupt, why did God let the Bible be put together by a corrupt church? And why was the cannon of the Bible wrong and needed to be changed by Martin Luther nearly 1000 years later. As Catholics we believe that Jesus made the church on St Peter, and gave him the keys of heaven. Making him the first pope, giving him the authority to bind and unbind. There is a succession of popes. Jesus built the church on Peter. Which he then passed down his role to others. We believe the Bible is the infallible word of God, and cannot contradict it. The sacred tradition is also very important. Because God reveals things throughout time thru people, which we get thru tradition. The church is the body of Christ. Jesus said that the gates of hell won’t prevail against his church. The Catholic Church. Also as St. Ignatius of Antioch (the apostle of St. John) said, “Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.” If you look into early Church Fathers. Everything they believe is still upheld in the Catholic Church. Unlike many Protestant denominations.
Thank you, Bro. John, for sharing this with us every day. I have enjoyed reading through the gospel of John. You know all the many miracles Jesus did; I can't believe the Pharisees could not believe especially seeing it with their own eyes! But I know that was God's plan.
I thought it was cool how Pilate wrote “The king of the Jews” and the Jews wanted it changes to “He said, ‘I am the king of the Jews’” but Pilate refused to change it so in the end the truth was written there for everyone to see. It also struck me near the end of the chapter that these two men who had been secret disciples of Jesus, Joseph and Nicodemus, apparently felt compelled enough to come into the light at His death. Surely they couldn’t have escaped the Jews’ notice by offering up the tomb and bringing a hundred pounds of spices.
Jesus was born under the shadow of the cross. He lived only in to die for us. How will we live our lives to reflect that wonderful sacrifice of Jesus, our Lord and Savior? Great question.
I must’ve read John a handful of times and not once did I notice that one of the officers of the high priest struck Jesus with his hand. I just can’t imagine anyone striking the Son of God. 😢
I’m in awe that Jesus prayed for me 2000 years ago to the Father. Side note: I sure hope that I can recall all the answers to John’s questions this Sunday.
I’m so glad that us as a family get to go through the book of John on a daily bases. It been such a blessing and humbling experience!
I’m enjoying this series so much!
I am honored by the fact that Jesus left us with the Spirit of God, our guide, and helper. The Holy Spirit dwells in us. Makes me want to take care of His dwelling place a little better.
Abiding in God means to read his word, pray, memorize scripture and be still before him soaking up his presence. In this way, we can know him, be used by him and ultimately glorify him.

God is in us through the Holy Spirit. That’s an awesome fact and pretty heavy responsibility
I think all of John's teachings are great but this one 👆 was so good I had to watch it again!
It is so difficult to give up our pride and serve others, thinking they are elevated above us. I get emotional when I envision Jesus, king of kings, Lord of Lords, washing the feet of his disciples. What a model of love and humility he has set for us all.
Taking on the life of a servant truly is a lifelong journey. If I'm being honest, there are still times when I think I deserve to be served. Tough to admit.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall live, and everyone who believes in lives and believes in me shall never die.” Jesus has the power of life and can give it at anytime. Lazarus was raised to life after four days which demonstrated this incredible power.
The thought of one man, Jesus, pure and sinless, taking on the wrath of God for all the sins of the world is unfathomable. And yet He did it willingly. What an amazing act of love. ❤
“One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.” Jesus heals our spiritual blindness. That’s my testimony and no one can refute it.
I love the imagery of the Good Shepherd knowing each sheep’s name and then them be able to hear and know the Shepherd’s voice. Leading them through the door where no one can snatch them out of his Father’s hand.
I can identify with this passage so well. I was blind for so much of my life. I praise Jesus for giving me sight in my later years.
Jesus claimed to be God by calling himself I AM to the Jews. I can only imagine their disbelief when this young man from Nazareth proclaimed himself to know God and to be God. Oh if they could’ve had genuine faith like that of Mary Magdalene and the apostles and then to seek him instead of trying to stone him.
“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out if his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” Jesus, through the presence of the Holy Spirit in us, is the fulfillment of the promise of eternal life. I always love the metaphor about living waters throughout the OT and NT. It brings up pictures of nourishment, quenching thirst, and life of a tree near a stream reaching its roots deep into the water.
“Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” Thank you Jesus for being true bread from heaven, not temporary bread like manna, but spiritual and eternal life.
“Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.”” John 6:27 ESV
The fact that Jesus said "I Am" refutes the skeptical argument that Jesus never clai.ed deity. This is the first of many examples. Awesome!
Love it
These videos are very helpful, great job❤
If I read this book as a stand alone- I have nearly no knowledge of the rest of the Bible, yet. I’m working on it. How amazing it must have been to witness Jesus doing His thing with the invalid. In a time when righteousness and miracles were scarce and evil was prominent. Whoo, God is great! I am inspired by how Jesus gives it to the Jews. I can almost hear the pleading of his voice, like, come on you guys, you have to know! You’ve read the scriptures! How can you not believe? The scriptures are about ME! He speaks as a father would to his child, a child who is doing something dangerous, He is speaking to them to save them! Some questions that arose for me, maybe stupid common knowledge questions, but I don’t know. Who had access to the scriptures at the time? What format were they in? Who knew of there existence? Were they common knowledge? I am enjoying this journey. I’ll be praying for Sunday.
Jesus is equal to God. He is over the Sabbath and can continually be doing good whenever he wants. It’s just like man (the Jews) to make up their own laws and then go around demanding them over over everyone. Point is this-Jesus used his work on the Sabbath to declare who he was-He was equal to God.
Jesus is our rest. So many of our neighbors are so hung up on the day, they miss the whole point. They fret and worry so much about the rules, they completely miss the blessing of spending time in Jesus's presence.
Oh how I love the metaphor of the living water. Psalm 42:1 days “As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.” God calls himself the fountain of living waters in Jer 2:13. In John 4:14, Jesus tells the woman at the well that if she drinks this water (referring to himself-Jesus) she will never be thirsty again. That’s eternal life in Christ Jesus, folks. Our lives can be transformed by this living water!
The timeline of the disciples’ journey from fishermen to fishers of men is wild. In vs 1-2 it says Jesus’s disciples were baptizing people. I mean…some of these guys still had fish guts under their nails. It has not been a long time since they met Jesus. But he has utterly and completely changed their lives and is already using them to bring others to himself. They didn’t have to go to seminary or have a ministry degree…they just had to know Jesus and tell others about Him. Praise God that when we come to Jesus he changes us and uses us!!
It struck me that when Jesus heals the official’s son, he does not even lay eyes on him. It is from afar. His words alone made this miracle happen. He said it and it was (Genesis 1?). I take notice that through the woman and the official sharing their experiences with Jesus brought in more people to him. I believe, we as believers should also be sharing our experiences with Him. My husband is not a believer. I share everyday something I learned in scripture during my daily study. The book of John thus far has reaffirmed my thoughts that I am to be sharing His word, that doing so may bring others to him.
