    How long will they continue to grow after trimming? I’ve grown and trimmed mine around 3 times, wanted to know how many more times will this process last?

      I was wondering that as I didn't dry them out either... I immeditely stuck them into a cactui & succulent potting mix. Hopefully it'll root ok.

    hi great video i see a lot of videos saying to keep out of sunlight but i have been keeping mine in my front window on my radiator cover all year round and they are growing like crazy also when I trim them I have more plants then I can handle and in the winter when the heat is on they are kept very warm also i took in a plant that was over 50 years old and was not growing now that i repotted it and placed it on radiator cover by the window its beginning to grow new leaves so i would say if a plant likes a certain spot keep it there even its in the sun ..

    I neglected mine during the summer and two big branches died and fell off. I dipped them in rooting gel, propagated in water and now there are roots all over it! Going to plant it in some cactus/succulent compost today. Rooting gel is the one!

    Hello. Any updates on this?

  • @obscurazone
    @obscurazone ปีที่แล้ว

    I've been growing and propagating my "mother" plant for about 7 years, and ive lost count of the amount of times ive done it now but there's easily been about 12 meters of length and the plant is about 25cm wide. Once you get them settled, they grow like crazy! Ya know what though, I've NEVER propagated directly into soil, always in water! Im snipping one today and I have so many cuttings that I suddenly wondered if I could just plant directly into the soil which brought me here, so its great to see that you're having success. Propagating in water takes up so much space when you have lots of plants! Just a tip, whenever I propoagate mine in order to fill/bulk out a plant rather than pot a new one, I always snip an equal half length on each strand. That way you get a more even growth pattern and the plant tends to look fuller and the smaller leaves blend in better with the bigger leaves - you also create a stronger overall plant as the leaves can intertwine at an even rate as they grow together. Good luck with yours :-)

    Great info! As the video progressed, I changed my mind on how I would proceed multiple times. I went from thinking that I should start with the water method, then plant it in soil after the roots develop. However, your video shows that I should just go with the soil method from the very start. Like many others, I love your accent, and your voice is so soothing!

    Thank you for this video. My Christmas cactus has been dying of root rot so I’ve had to completely chop off all the roots. It’s already very wilted so it might be too far gone but I’m going to try the water propagation method.

      Hello! I would definitely recommend getting one, it is actually one of my all time favourites. I think they look so nice on a shelf and they are so easy to care for. Plus you only need to buy a little one as they propagate so easily! Both of these came from one little plant! Thank you for watching!

    I propagate in water and also soil. Sometime s I just do the popping the segment in soil and wait . I've also used water propagation. Once the roots appear in water I take the segment and stick it in soil. Don't wait past roots drowning half an inch in water. plant will die eventually if left too long in water!💚

    This is fabulous... Do you keep the big (original) leaf attached even when they have grown big enough to be repotted?

    • @frannnlife
      @frannnlife ปีที่แล้ว

      I do usually leave them (they will eventually shrivel up and fall off) but once it has roots you can remove them if you wish :)

    Hi! Thanks for making another video. Your Burrows Tail cactus is really beautiful. Amazing how just a leaf can grow a whole new plant like that. I have a small Jade plant that I took a cutting from and stuck it in soil like I saw you do on another video. It took a really long time to do anything but it didn’t die and finally started growing so I am not surprised how long yours took either. Love to see an update. Thanks again!

    aren't you suppose to take it out of the water after healthy roots have grown? if you leave it in the water too long it causes root rot

      If it has always been in water then it will be fine to stay in water, but yes you can move it once roots are established
