Since I see that this tutorial isn’t really well liked ill give my own instructions or tips Note: I only do downhill runs and I’m not a reliable source :p and you should apply some fact and see how it works for YOU! --- Part 1: Actually drifting properly----- The video is more oriented around gutter runs, but gutter runs are more useful in order to keep the car on the road and keep me and our silly asses from crashing into a mountain. Dry conditions: For hairpins, going into 2nd gear (depending on the car) will make the car more slippery with decent speed but 3rd gear for me has gave a good grip and still gave a slight drift. You might have to brake and sway a bit more since 3rd gear has more higher speed Rainy conditions: It’s VERY important to choose a good car for rainy conditions. I’ve tested the AE86 in these conditions and it does seem to be easier to control in the rain than a much more powerful car. I wouldn’t say it’s the best option to drift on every corner in the rain or dry conditions since it also can wear down the tires and make the car less controllable. Approach 1.5 - Hairpins: Be smooth, don’t think you’re Bunta and you’re invincible. If you’re going at a higher speed and at least for me, I usually step off the pedal and turn it slightly, and when the car is facing a satisfactory position then I accelerate. Long turns: Step off the pedal and make sure you have enough speed, and only slightly steer the car and let it slide until you find a good position. Most likely you’ll be in 4th or 5th gear when entering the long turn, you should be using 3rd or 4th gear when exiting it. I might have a poor explanation but meh, ill post a part two in the replies
