Solar Cooking, Why Bother?
มุมมอง 33712 ปีที่แล้ว
Demonstrates the KISS accronym. It is so simple to use the sun for solar cooking which does not require all the infrustructure that conventional cooking stoves need. The same idea could be applied to solar hot water heaters, and solar funaces. These are all great ways to cut down on your utility bills and reduce your carbon foot print. Natural Gas is truly the bridge to nowhere good. Solar is t...
Solar Stirfry

For our stirfry today I am going to let my wife cut up our favorite vegetables while I start cooking the stirfry noodles. I start with a wok and about a quart of water. Once the water is boiling I add the noodles and cook them for about 5 minutes. Soon as they are done I pour them into a strainer to drain off the water and leave them in the stainer till later. Then I add a small amount of cooki...

Rocket Cook Stove
มุมมอง 1.1K12 ปีที่แล้ว
Here is a home made rocket stove made from a 10 gallon propane tank. One thing to consider when designing a rocket stove is that lower heat with the ability to simmer is better than too high a heat that will just burn and scorch your foods. Making your stove with a slightly longer flue allows for better heat control and the ability to simmer.

The Illusion of Freedom
มุมมอง 3.4K13 ปีที่แล้ว
A poem about the monetary system that is enslaving the world and causing most of the problems humanity is facing. Most people think that money is advancing humanity but in reality, the current system is hindering progress because so many of the things humanity needs are not profitable. Humanities needs, must be based on resourses not capitalistic greed. There is no reason that all the pain and ...

    Interesting how people observe new technology... You've got a good looking, stable recumbent, honest about the learning curve, and yet out of 35k views only 132 likes. That's how people are...they want super popular. This is what UCI understood, they dominated bike racing for many weeks with one bike design...making it popular and thus more sales of that design.

    I am 12 years late, but this is brilliant as it simplifies so much a front wheel drive. In term of concentration, do you need more than on an "ordinary" recumbent to keep the bike upright and pointing in the right direction?

  • @ron611087
    @ron611087 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really like the idea of the rear steering. It seems to resolve 2 issues with a recumbent: - No long chain needed because you can use front wheel drive with a fixed wheel. - You can use a large front wheel on a short wheel base and still maintain a low rider position because your legs can straddle the wheel. Is the bike more twitchy than a conventional front steered bike?

  • @chuckrichey9260
    @chuckrichey9260 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's phenomenal!! It looks like a lot of your weight is distributed nicely towards the front wheel where your power is generated. What an excellent design.

    I think this is exactly what I'm getting ready to make so my question is how thick is your top plate and what size and can you give some specifications on your rocket stove thanks and good looking stove :)

    • @Denrnr
      @Denrnr 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      The top is 1/4 in thick. The flew is 3/8 in. thick. The lower fuel and air box is made of 2"X4"X1/8" rectangular stock. Stacked two high with holes drilled in the center layers to make a grill. It is designed for longevity. We use it for makeing large batches of tamales.

    I'd like to see maneuvering in tight spots (eg, parking lot b'n cars) at low speeds (~1m/s). And, if possible, make it in slow-motion replay to capture steering geometry work and center mass shifts during your sharp cornering. Show no-hands or, at least, one-hand ride. Otherwise, your video hasn't proved the conclusion of many experienced recumbent bikes makers that FWD RWS scheme is not worth efforts.

    When you stand up to pedal on a 'normal' bike, you can't push down with more than your body weight. If you're sitting with your back against a fixed seat, you can push more than your body weight onto the pedals.
