Hello, for several reasons, if you look at the video, the screws are being placed about 3 inches from the corners of the drawers, they are never placed so close to the corners because they break, also in certain cases because the material is very thin when it is 1/2 inch, only nails are placed, the plywood that you see in the video is 3/4 inch, they also break due to the type of screws that are used, never use black screws apart from the fact that they damage the material they are very weak and break easily with too much torque or force, the screws that I use in the video are self-belling that alone make the hole to hide their own head in the front of the drawers, I recommend putting them 2 inches from the corners of the drawers, if the measurement is 3 inches or less, only nails in the front, below you have to put screws, this helps to give stability to the drawer, I hope this information is useful to you, best regards
