Cardinals @ Orioles 3/27/97 (Spring Training)
The Cardinals made a (at the time) rare appearance at Oriole Park at Camden Yards to wrap up the pre-season portion of their 1997 schedule, and put a hurtin' on the O's.

Planes, Trains, & Automobiles - The Navy Road Caps Scene
มุมมอง 3656 หลายเดือนก่อน
In honor of the Cardinals wearing the Navy Road Caps against the Angels this week, here is the alternate take of the "Love is Not a Big Enough Word" scene from the 1987 film, "Planes, Trains, & Automobiles" starring the late John Candy, and Steve Martin. This is intended for parody only, and falls under Fair Use. All rights are reserved by their original and respective copyright holders.
Cathedrals of the Game: Busch Memorial Stadium

Take a trip with Michelle Beadle back to 2004, and visit Busch Memorial Stadium in all of its renovated glory! Son of a bitch, how I miss this stadium ...
Reds @ Cardinals 7/15/18 (First Game Post-Matheny)
มุมมอง 31610 หลายเดือนก่อน
A day before the All-Star Break, the Cardinals played their first game after having fired (horrible) manager, Mike Matheny, the night before. I remember my brother texting me as soon as the news became public. His text said: "They did it! They fucking did it! They fired Matheny!"
that infield fly call was horrible, not only was that ball deep and halfway into the outfield, the infield fly rule is to prevent double plays. there’s absolutely no way they could have turned a double play on that ball
@@aaronaguilar9172 You're flat wrong. It was the correct call. You might not like it, but read the actual rule in the MLB rulebook. The Infield Fly Rule has almost nothing to do with WHERE the ball/infielder is located; it has everything to with WHOM is camped under the ball. Yes, it is designed to protect base runners from being forced into an easy double play, but like it or not, that's not the determining factor as to if the rule is enacted. If an infielder is camped under the ball, able to catch it with normal effort, and the appropriate bases are occupied, then they could be on the warning track and still have it called Infield Fly. In the same way that if a runner rounding third intentionally runs into the third baseman, it's obstruction and they are awarded home, you might not LIKE the rule being applied, but that IS the rule, and applying it is correct.
I firmly believe that if the homerun chase never happened the MLB wouldn't be around today. Sosa and McGwire saved baseball that year. And the Jack Buck speech is easily one of the best speeches ever made
It's just MLB, not THE MLB. The 1998 Home Run chase was tremendous fun at the time, and even in hindsight I still love that era, steroids be damned. While baseball's "Summer of Love" certainly helped get people more excited about the game, saying that MLB wouldn't be around right now had the Home Run Race of 1998 not happened is ludicrous. MLB had already signed a huge TV package with FOX, NBC, and ESPN prior to 1996 (so, post-strike), and attendance had increased league-wide in 1996 and 1997, and with expansion happening in 1998, that was likely to continue. People have said that baseball was dying or in trouble for over 100 years. There will always be SOMETHING that makes people worry about the long-term future of the game. The Black Sox Scandal! Too Many Home Runs! Not Enough Home Runs! Three True Outcomes! Greedy Owners! Greedy Players! Free Agency! The 1981 Strike! The 1994/1995 Strike! The 2022 Lockout! Tanking! The Astros, Red Sox, and Yankees Sign Stealing Scandals! Pete Rose's Gambling Scandal! Covid! The Wild Card! The Wild Card Game! The Wild Card Series! Expanded Playoffs! PED's! Blackouts! Rob Manfred! Every era has its issues, and every era has its shining moments, and yet baseball has survived all of it. I'm not saying there will never come a day when baseball dies, but it's not going to be any time soon, and it certainly wouldn't dead now without 1998.
Common Wes Obermuller appearance.
Second Winningest Franchise, & Proud To Be A Fan. 11 WS Titles, Behind The Yankees😊.
This is so much fun to watch. All my favorite players as a kid.
Is it just me, or does it seem like the number of broken bats has increased over the years?
this team got swept by the BLUE JAYS that year softest champion ever your not a great champion if you cant sweep the blue jays
@@carter7944 Well, you can't make a really dumb comment without the wrong form of "your" (should have been "you're"). You're the softest troll ever.
More videos like this please!
@@RyanJackson-vp5he If I have time this offseason, I'm thinking about looking back at the 2000, 2004, and 2005 squads. I also have a rather interesting idea for a 2011 World Series Film remake that I think could blow some people's minds, but we'll see what my schedule allows for.

I was on my honeymoon in Hawaii when ths series was going on. It was very hard to not stay in the hotel and watch the games. But evening games in St. Louis are in the middle of the afternoon in Hawaii so that was not happening. My wife would have not understood. So now I go back to these videos to see them.
Thank you for posting this. We had tickets to this game. It would had been my then fiancés (now wife’s) first game. We never got past the turnstiles as she blew her knee cap out on it. The Mets were extremely classy and comped the tickets. It allowed me to bring my cousin between tours in Iraq later that year.
That place went insane for that chavez catch
Charlie sheen pitched there as rick vaughn for the Indians. Lou brown as the manager.
Thanks for posting these games! 💖
Al Hrabosky and Dan McLaughlin - Gotta love 'em!
They need to make a new term for dual grand slams
The D Backs in 02 ran out of magic and were ravaged by injuries late in the season.
Why did the game turn off with 2 strikes in the 9th 😡
August 5, 2004 would prove be the last time that the Cardinals would ever play against the Expos.
This was Matt Morris last Regular season game
@@warnedwhitey9618 With the Cardinals, you mean. He played with the Giants and Pirates after leaving STL.
@@cardinalsbaseballclassicsthat is what I mean. I sorta wish he would've retired with the Cardinals. I liked Matt Morris, he was really good in his early years.
How does a regular season finale between division opponents occur in July?

A young Joe Buck??? Who knew???
@@ericradford2142 I did.
Brad Lidge's biggest mistake, not walking Pujols. Phil Garner should have called for an immediate intentional walk to keep Pujols from hitting the fastball. Otherwise Astros would have won the pennant at home. That would have increased Houston's confidence to go 7 games with the Chicago White Sox at the World Series.
ナックラー😊😊
Should’ve sealed the MVP for Pujols.

The Good ole days when the Cardinals was actually Good
Even though we didn't move to St Louis until 1975 when I was in HS, I'm proud to say I was at 2 of the Honorable Mentions and 4 of the 10 Greatest Moments, including both 1+2, and both Gs 6+7 of the 2004 NLCS. Was very close by the 82 WS W, and celebrated in the streets, but not actually in Busch unfortunately.
Let’s not forget FREESE!!!
Right. He schooled us when we played him. So great he could be a bird and help
국노야..
Taco Bell ad 6:18 😭
One two punch Randy Johnson and Schilling who won 2001 World Series Champion lost to cardinals..
Rangers fan here, I had never seen the 2011 World Series from the Cardinal's perspective. I gotta say, I have a whole lotta respect for the Cardinals and David Freese now.
1:02:41 I love seeing Tony La Russa relaxed and genuinely delighted. No other manager in all of baseball has ever, nor ever will, match him.

30 years ago and this is still awesome. One day I want to simulate the rest of the 1994 season to see who could have won the World Series!
I'm a Cub fan and this shit is hilarious. By the way, showing the 1984 Padre highlights puts some of us Cub fans in rehab - that's the most painful series/moments of all time for us with no question...yes, worse than 2003 Bartman, etc.
This organist is TERRIBLE!
I still have a ziplock baggie of infield dirt, a (Men's) Red Bird off a Bathroom door, and One! of the 11!...massive seating charts off a concrete pillar. We snuck in from a bar across the street, after last game at Busch game 6 Houston Astros. Thanks Albert Pujols, and Brad Lidge... for (nearly 20 years later) being able to Get .and still Have this stuff! Would've never happened without that moment🙏
The game that made me fall in love with the great game of baseball

wth is this scorebug lol
Never underestimate Molina.
I was live at this game and for many other games during September collapse of 2007 mets lose every time with heilman and mota screwing up as well as feliciano pitching every damn day.
