A repository for audiovisual creations I loosely describe as 'music'. This I do purely for my own entertainment: some days are longer than others and a distraction from time's passage is important. Every attempt is a learning opportunity, developing in complexity through practice. My intention is not to entertain, this is simply an archive capturing my own progress as a creator from which I derive great pleasure.

filtered Ovum noise drone experiment

unapologetically weird and challenging stuff this, but I think I've found a use for the Ovum. Run through the oddly steppy filter on the P6 which has some lovely overdrive baked in, the Ovum goes from being a strange, demur device to an angry shouting rage drone... even on a sunday morning! Further experiments needed, I think the NTS3 after the P6 will add some softness back in with its insane ...

PO33 beat I made at work yesterday and some extras on the P6. 80 bpm. Samples from here and there. I think there is some Armenian folk music on the PO33 but can't be sure. who knows? celebrating the end of jamuary with more jams. maybe that's a thing now? Is this #beatbruary ? or #Febeatary ? some questions best left unanswered... peace

well that's jamuary done for another year - managed a pretty decent effort, not absolutely every day but some days there were more than one upload so I guess it all balances out. Had some fun, didn't really follow any prompts but that's just how I roll... not likely to change now... Nearly done on 30th, one more day to go... more P6 beats made at work and bashed out at home after dinner. Beats snatched from youtube and chopped to bejesus, rearranged into something new. fancied more drone this evening so I chucked the neutron back into play and carried on with this ROAT/NTS3 business. This patch on the neutron is busy, all sorts of generative things about. might have to dig the crave back out of the 'for sale' pile and get some more patching done... Sampling is encouraged.

took a sample from The Promised Land by Mongo Santamaria (had a rummage on TH-cam) and some more drum pattern demos found also on YT, much chopping and general mucking about and this little loop happened. spent a minute in the lab last night concocting oddness and exploring ideas. This heavily patched generative nutron noise seemed at one point to fit with this beat on the TR8s and some random cobblers on the P6. Dry january officially over, normal service is now resumed. Blimey this is noisy, here we go... Made a weird beat with a weird patch set on the PO32, ran through the NTS-3 into the P6, chopped and processed and created a surreal 2 bar loop, lots of probability triggering and general malarky. OK, sampleception time. Took the PO33 to work today as I haven't picked it up since the P6 arrived. Sampled, chopped and made a beat, refreshed at how enjoyable it is to use. Yeah man, all of this! I love this all on its own and I can imagine you layering some of it over a beat or sampling it, chopping it and making something new. When you're out and about, what do you sample with? Koala or a portable recorder like Zoom or Tascam?
Hey cheers man, appreciate that. I've got zoom h1n I use for field recordings but also use the voice recorder on my phone and even just point and shoot a video of interesting stuff... gotta grab everything!
