Cats are transforming camera tech. Recently published research takes us on a journey from the data to the applications, dreamscapes and even some nightmares that could spring from this tech deep in the future. Most footage is 4K, so feel free to turn up the quality in your settings. #breakingnews #news #cats #science #tech #research #breakthroughs #4k #breaking Here's a link to the research in ...
New Smart Material Breakthrough | Kirigami Robots | Science News

New breakthrough research has created an intelligent, semi-autonomous, "living" material that can crawl on its own. In this episode, I detail the research, near term applications, and then imagine how this material may be used deep in the future for next generation tech. It feels sci-fi, but it's oh so sci-FACTS. #breakingnews #news #new #science #tech #future #breaking Thanks for being here. I...
Finally, science is catching up with comic books! Does this mean we could swing through cities like Spiderman someday?
Yeah it's so crazy! I don't think we'll be able to do all the things Spidey does, in the ways that Spidey does them in the movies... but it is looking like eventually... I'm gonna say somewhere around 20 to 50 years from now, we'll be able to live out our Spiderman fantasies with a Spidey suit on. And I think in another 100 to 200 years, I think all the suit capabilities will be integrated into our skin. Who knows?! :-P
80x the fibers strength!? That’s like… the weakest piece of string I’ve ever heard of xD Cool tech though with the solidification :)
I know right? Especially since this is version 1.0. Just imagine how much stronger this stuff will be a few more iterations down the road! The real question is how long until it can hold a human :-D
@ I mean, it can already hold a human… you just need around a 1 kg string to support the human :p
Oh yeah, very true, that's an excellent point. I guess I was thinking about having a super thin, lightweight string like Spidey does in the movies.
cool format
Hey thanks, glad you like it. It's still early days so I'm experimenting a lot... Any ideas for how it could be improved?
Who needs Netflix when we’ve got Plasmapause TV?! Loving your video. Keep those science facts and sci-fi vibes coming! You’ve got a fan here! 🌌✨
Hey thank you so much! Will do. Good to know someone is enjoying the sci-fi angle... I was thinking about scrapping that stuff... but I love doing that too. Probably my favorite part of the videos.
I like the idea of self-replicating robots. It reminds of prions.
Yeah it's fascinating and terrifying...
Sign me up for mantis vision please!
I know, right? Chameleon Mode would just break me.
So what do you think of the Nightmares chapter? Did I lean too hard into the sci-fi, dystopian future?
