A little demonstration of the technique Sam Phillips used to achieve his world changing tape delay! The guitar is a custom built 1954 Strat copy. The amp is a 1955 Fender Deluxe. The signal chain includes an RCA Varacoustic on the guitar amp, an RCA 77d and an Altec M11 in the "vocal" position. The tape delay is courtesy of an Ampex 401 feeding an RCA 76 b console. Hi! The 5879 tube (Pentode) was used extensively by Gates in their Yard and other tube consoles prior to them switching over to the EF86. The MX10 used the EF86 in most that I've seen. Currently the EF86 is still in production (as of 2018). I chose the 6au6 pentode for my first 2 stages of preamplification on my mixers, but will be switching to an EF86 at some point, as the 6au6 is in more limited NOS supply. Thank you for doing the video!!
Whats happened with the Busby preorders and equpment that you were sent? I can only find the negative written. I was ready to put a lot of effort into getting Busby the right kind of attention recently, but you haven't replied to emails, you have several sites and they all say slightly different things. And Ive yet to find positive outcomes on posts.

Is that 137.5 ms?
133 give or take. Due to phase cancelation, and harmonic distortion, you may not be able to hear exactly 133 ms but you can see it on a scope.

emlonify yep! Actually getting ready to open them up this week for some annual maintenance and vintage checks! In the process of building some line to mic attenuators in order to use these for mix down too!
