Gosh how I wish the words were visible too. I remember when I was a child in the 1960s at York Citadel Corps. UK and this was one of my favourite songster songs. Such good memories!

i remember him when all his family came to camp on dallas tx he play with me in the band he was so young an he was so good just like his dad an the dad play for us Virgen de la Macarena an exellent trumpet solo

Played brilliantly but what a boring piece.
Sorry but the composer of that piece is Marcus Venables. He is sitting Soprano cornet in the band, a gifted young Salvationist composer.
Andrew Maycock took the original words from John Gowans and crafted the new melody featured in this piece.

This is the kind of performance you want from a world premiere! As well as an outstanding display of musicianship it is great theatre also (watch the face of the flugelhorn player behind!)
hello sir, is there a recording of kevin ashman playing this solo. the piece says you wrote it for him. i would love to hear him play it and i am guessing accompanied by the ISB. that would be an amazing performance
