L’UV-LIGA ouvre de nouvelles perspectives dans la miniaturisation des composants ainsi que dans la microstructuration de surface. Elle permet de réaliser des géométries complexes à l'aide de l'électroformage. Cette technologie additive a l’avantage d’être peu coûteuse et rapidement mise en œuvre ce qui rend le procédé très compétitif face aux méthodes traditionnelles par enlèvement de matière.
