I VERY often think back to my earliest memory of english class last year. I never tried hard in school until last year and yet still always got exceptional grades. i was taking my work up to the teacher for one-on-one advice (due to the nature of the task every student was doing this in turns)
i was obviously very confident my work was fine enough and wasnt planning on getting any feedback, or implementing it if i did.
after reading it she straight up crosses out my entire first paragraph and says it sucks so bad, that in comparison the the rest of my writing it just didnt need to be there. for some reason i then proceeded to omit the first paragraph and put my effort into further improving the rest of my writing.
my brain works in strange ways. my least favourite part about sharing my drawings online is that no one has anything bad to say. no one thinks i can do any better. and that hurts because i actually cant do any better. like this is the best i can do. and its not good enough.
