Seriously by far the best spaceclaim tutorial i saw in my 3 year working with it
Hi, this is Shahab, who is interested in your projects. I'm designing a vibratory bowl feeder for my personal project since there is no professional person in this field based on my location I was wondering can I have your advice about my design and share with me Your professional experience as engineer in this field. I really need your help thank you so much
Hi, thanks for getting in touch. We don't really offer consultancy in this particular area, we specialise in providing training and support for the actual software. If you have any questions due drop us an email at hello@origin-eng.co.uk
Thank you so much for your feedback @@originengineeringsolutions431
Nice job sir... But I have been trying to use the same environment in creating a flow system through a 90 degree angled pipeline. Please can you help me with that??🙏🙏
UGI solutions, who did you buy your Discovery license off, you should be able to ask them for assistance. Alternatively, you can log into the Ansys Innovation Space and ask on the forum - innovationspace.ansys.com/ais-discovery/ We provide support for our UK & IE based customers so unfortunately not able to help, but hopefully the above helps. Thanks very much!
Can you teach me how to draw lace on a cone in spaceclaim software? thank you
brother i have so much doubts
can you make a tutorial on this?
Thanks for the message, we can add it to our list. In the meantime, you can visit the Discovery Forum which should provide some additional guidance - discoveryforum.ansys.com/
Thank you❤
I have a question sir why are you not considering the microporosity in this part casting simulation is it less important or is microporosity also the key role in qualifying the casting simulation. if it comes then how to avoid the microporosity in LPDC process
have you made any detailed tutorial of lpdc casting with analysis results?
Inspire Cast can do Low pressure, we will aim to create a Low pressure video detailing set up and results in the coming weeks.
Hi, is it possible to get shaft torque?
can we export blank in iges or step format?
Yes you can export the blank in IGES or DXF format
como ver somente a solidificação? é obrigatorio colocar a entrada de metal°?
Solidification can be ran purely on the part, a filling method isn't necessary for this. You would just need to specify only solidification when running the analysis.
Hi, if I want to optimize the sound at the output ports with the same frequency but the source is in the same place, which Altair software should I use?
Fantastic! Thanks, very useful.
Hi . I'm having trouble with a fluid mechanics simulation on Discovery Ansys. I want to reproduce your Centrifugal Fan example video, but when I define the rotating fluid zone an error appears "Rotating fluid zone 3 cannot be applied to overlapping bodies. Do you know how to solve this problem?
I have the same problem, you should subtract the rotation fluid zone from the main fluid zone by combine command to create separated fluid zone.
hiya!! superb drone,💯
thanks it took me ages to find it
Your video helps me lot sir. I request you to make a video on taking Fluid domain inside a pump or generator. I am struggling to take fluid volume domain in a generator.
Hi, glad to hear the videos are helpful. For fluid domain extraction I would use the Volume Extract tool. We have another video that shows this tool in more detail at around the 2:40 mark hopefully this may help- th-cam.com/video/izXSVt6Gm2c/w-d-xo.html
@@originengineeringsolutions431 I am doing CFD analysis of a generator in which oil is flown inside to cool the generator as it is producing more than 50kW heat. It is having intricate paths and multiple outlet and inlets. For CFD analysis, I need to take the fluid volume. That's why I am asking. Can you make sir?
i am trying to use Inspire cast and get the error " the FE process has stopped working" . How will this error be handled in inspire cast . Thank you
Hi Thai, who provides your Altair license currently?, they should be able to provide local support. You will likely have to send them the error message and they should be able to help. Could be down to meshing issues usually. Thanks Origin
Thank you 🙂
thanks, dude
thank you!
Great vid m8. Spot on, no bs.
Hello, I'd like to know if there is any way to make the simulations be done faster, maybe running them through the Gpu or something like that
Hi, currently not. This is done on the CPU at the moment and run time will depend on a number of factors such as; processor power and number of cores, model size, mesh size.
Very nice new feature, can this feature be applied to calculate the thrust in a ducted fan, or this is just for a cool display ?
Hi thanks for the comment, yes it could be potentially used to calculate thrust based on Mass flow and Velocity values.
@@originengineeringsolutions431 Thanks
@@originengineeringsolutions431 Please, can this version of Ansys Discovery live work on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti? Thanks
@@ettrike, that should work fine. If in doubt, you can check out the this document which details current graphics card requirements - www.ansys.com/content/dam/it-solutions/platform-support/ansys-2023-r1-graphical-display-graphics-cards-tested.pdf
@@originengineeringsolutions431 Thanks
How to pay this software
Hi, nice video, Please, what Laptop is needed for live simulation (minimum GPU configuration)? Can this simulate a Ducted fan and compute the necessary motor power and torque / the resulted thrust ?
Thanks for the comment and watching the video. Specs required for Discovery are · A dedicated NVIDIA GPU card (Quadro recommended, GeForce supported) based on the Maxwell, Pascal, Turing, or Ampere architecture. P3000 or better strongly recommended. Minimum 4GB of video RAM (8GB recommended) on the GPU. Graphics Driver version 451 or higher In regards to your question, it can be done but would likely be one of the Ansys flagship products, if you would like to learn more please feel free to call us on 03333 440 880 Within Discovery you can model a fan, but you need to enter the torque and other parameters. E.g you cant predict motor power based on the fan but it is possible in other products.
@@originengineeringsolutions431 A big thanks for your reply and info. So it is feasible but with other SW from Ansys, Thanks.
@@ettrike Yes it would be possible. If you are happy to share your email we can send you some more details, if you don’t want to share on here just email us at hello@origin-eng.co.uk or feel free to call.
I picked up on a single aspect of the Fill tool...which I use a lot. So thanks for the video.

Colorful Figures for Directors
Odd to ask this perhaps, but how to force / keep the 4 legs together and joined with a connecting structure to the thin top platform ? Also, there seems fairly substantial L > R differences in legs topology and joining method to platform at 1:50. therefore I ask, is this showing 2 equally good (L and R) solutions? From the facet creation, what next, do you then go to subD and make smoother, removing creases etc, then finally to cad nurbs? I see that part is symmetrical in 2 planes, therefore perhaps only 1/4 needs modelling analysis - can part symmetry be allowed / specified in 2 planes for efficiency? To continue the video journey from facet to subD to nurbs would have been nice to see. Can you comment/explain the L>R differences at 1:50 please - Thanks for this informative video - I do watch your content.
Thanks for your questions and we are glad you find the content useful. To keep the legs together via a connecting structure you could create some geometry and protect this area totally or by an amount which would stop the software reducing mass in that area. In terms of the difference between the left hand and right hand this is due to the part not being symmetrical and the left hand side having more mass to begin with, because this side has more stress placed upon it if the weight is evenly distributed which we are presuming in this video the support here will be slightly different. Once you have the optimised solution you can do a number of things such as smoothing, converting to CAD surfaces or you could as suggested take this into a Sub D model and further modify.
@@originengineeringsolutions431 Oh yeah, subtly not symmetrical - that caught me out! With respect to the joining the legs somehow, wouldn't any material protected therefore not change and there's already material there - perhaps another design load like a torque across R pair to L pair with a deflection parameter / target might produce the right result - although all answers are right, it's just a matter of loading correctly for the intended service. But wrt the symmetry enquiry, surely the reflective planes would be proportional less compute time as in normal fem work. Thanks for your reply - that little non symmetry really caught me out - glad you answered!
Yes, very much 'A bit of the flavour' of the product - I also spy 'Convert to SubD. It does look interesting. Thank You.
Is this SubD not in latest SC? Is it only in Ansys Discovery?
SubD is only in Ansys Discovery. SpaceClaim users should be able to access Discovery modeler to use this feature.
@@originengineeringsolutions431 Thanks for the reply. Perhaps in SC 2023R1 as it's more of a Designers creation tool than an analysists modification requirement although that's not really a fair assessment of Discovery Modelling.
Would be nice to see a more complex block recording history part and a demonstration of the advantages vs disadvantages of same over dynamic modelling - perhaps a complex drafted plastic part. Can a part have a mix of block recording and dynamic editing also i.e, if a simple dynamic edit is all that's needed, must it's creation block be found to alter it in any way? Just imagine how nice it could be to dynamically change a block recorded 'feature' and automatically the block record would update - perhaps fantasy...How does it work when the history breaks down - how easy is it understand the problem and salvage the model. Also, when you're modelling in the context of top down assembly modelling and opening components etc. to make changes...can a part component have references to other parts etc. Lots of questions... thanks for the video, I can certainly see the variational benefits in your basic part. Origin Engineering solutions is doing some of the best YT informational videos with SC - so, thank you again.
Is meshing happening automatically?
In Discovery you have two ways of meshing in the 'Explore' mode which we show in this video it is meshing automatically. It uses voxel based approach and you can adjust your fidelity. If you want a more 'traditional' meshing approach you can use the 'refine' mode in Discovery and control your mesh in more detail.
Thanks, dude
Thanks !
