I like the idea of the symbol representing the lower class; like, sometimes I look out the window and see a garbage man, and I wonder to myself, What if there are no lower-class jobs? Well, who is going to pick up our trash? Who is going to clean our street? So when Superman is representing that; it's like the writer telling us that we shouldn't ignore those people or despise them; we NEED them just like we NEED Superman.

I'm not really enjoying the Absolute books. Nothing feels like it needs to be Elseworlds like this. They're not bad, just... stories they could tell, or have told already. Just a new coat of paint, so to speak. But yeah, I'm with ya.

The ASP 121 I bought I put in a bag, boarded, never handled it much. Had it graded, came back 7.5. So imagine the old, "If only I could go back in time and buy them when they came out" and you did that and it only got a 7.5. BTW I own almost all of those, many of which I bought when the 'newstand' version was actually cheaper to buy back issues of.

“Much needed reboot” ? I think not. Good writing and respecting the character brings in the readers. Absolute Superman is yet to be proven a good thing. It’s too early to tell. So far based on the first issue I’d say it’s going the wrong way. It’s activism writing dialed up, preaching, environmental virtue messaging and repetitive heavy handed female characters. When the bad guy is “the government “ or “a corporation “ , you got something that will grow old very fast.

One of my fav Jae Lee covers and interiors. Found the foil version back in April for a buck at a bookshop. Hunting the newsstand edition of this book.

I found my first Absolute Batman issue at a LCS today. The Absolute stuff is so hard to find. I picked up the Absolute Batman 1 noir edition today. No issue #2. There was only 1 left on the new comic shelf and I got lucky. It’s a fabulous B&W Batman book that you should pick up. If you can find it, you won’t regret it.

It's weird how I enjoy these books but if they didn't show up I wouldn't even think about it. Those Spawn books are fun that way.

I really liked how War Machine was written in the 80s and 90s. Too bad Marvel isn't doing much with the character now days.
