@@ComicsForLife2023 I personally have never been the biggest Superman fan or reader. So perhaps my opinion is not worth much weight, and that's fine, but I've felt an updated version has been needed for a while. I know not everybody feels the same, certainly. But yeah, good writing is good writing, so we'll see. Perhaps I am looking at it with too much of a recency bias. It was very preachy, pretty obvious geo-political stance by the writer, absolutely. Kind of reminded of the Superman Son of Kal El first issue, which I gave the benefit of the doubt at the time, where they were setting up societal ills as the main villains, and that series quickly went south. So I see your points. Hopefully Brainiac, Darkseid and others become big threats, and not polluting corporations or fascist government authorities.

Yeah I flipped through the Noir edition, and it looked great, but I had to make some choices with my money. Aw, you're making want to go back today and get it though! Lol

Yes they aren't reinventing wheel, but they are always consistent, and don't preach. And it's nice and violent. Another expanded superhero universe that isn't Marvel or DC is also good. Plus they are cheaper.

@@KaufmanIsAlive Absolutely. I've stopped getting all of them, I'm down to Scorched, Spawn, Spawn Kills Every Spawn and Violator. I keep thinking of pulling the plug on all of it, but I have fun!

@DCPatrol those are the 4 I've been concentrating on. I really like Gunslinger character, even though that series has fallen off a bit. King Spawn seems very inconsequential. Those 2 I've dropped from my pull but I'll probably pick up the books if I see them on the shelf.

Glad The Viscerator got rid of that horrible human disguise and ready to fight again!

Yeah they do nothing with him, I liked him more than Iron Man. I guess they don't want to promote a character with large artillery and guns named "War Machine", which I think is silly. They have no problem with over the top violence when it's a guy named after an animal with knives on his hands. Weird double standards.

@ I can definitely agree on that. Blade, Wolverine and Punisher are all in the same boat and Marvel promotes them heavily. But it is what it is i guess.

I have some of the archives, and some trades to fill in gaps. I have the first 23 issues, then some others after that, some major keys, and low print issues (including the lowest printed issue). I have every issue since 249. It's my long term goal to get every issue.

@@turtlecrossing662 Peter's costume at this point isn't the original symbiote costume, just a cloth facsimile that looks like it. At the end of the issue, MJ sews Peter a new blue and red one.

He's one of the few Image guys from the 90's still doing monthly books. Larsen is irregular with his output, and Liefeld puts out a couple mini's or one-shots every year, that's about it unless I'm forgetting someone. I was happy to see Booth was still around when I got back into comics. He seemed like the only one.

@@KaufmanIsAlive the only one I picked up for the longest time was Dragon. But when Larsen came out with his origin that killed it for me. Not sure if it was meant to be canon or not but knowing he's was a bad guy is his previously life hurt. I took it personal haha. Booth was always good, but when I saw him last he was a weird clone of Jim Lee much like J Scott was for awhile. Glad he's got his own flavor now. I met him once. Was very kind and generous with his time to the fans. :) You look young on video btw I am guessing we are within ten years of each other. lol

I enjoy this series too, I was probably too hard in the video to NOT recommend it. I'd give it a solid 7/10, which is worth a recommendation.

The day I made this video I found the original print of the 1st appearance of Gambit, (for the best price I'd ever come across). So, I got it after just saying in the video how I'd probably never get any of those originals because they are so expensive. It was a strange coincidence.
