Weathers getting cold and wet in the UK. I have no chance of collecting dahlia seeds esp. if I leave the petals on the plant (as the petals are wilting from the base and rotting) Is it ok to remove all of the petals off the dahlia and let the stem dry on the plant... will that still give me seeds ??

Thanks heaps. That was very helpful. How long does it take for the pod to close up once pollinated? This is my first attempt and I've been hand-pollinating every day for the past 4-5 days. It's now closed up so the opening is about 3/4".

Just wonderful, I have been researching "where can i buy soil for garden" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Fonillian Uncomplex Future - (just google it )? It is a smashing one of a kind product for discovering how to add breathtaking landscaping designs to your home without the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my brother in law got cool success with it.

I really want to thank you for your videos ! I have so many questions I have expanded my garden and have gotten hooked on dahlia. I have my tubers divided into single tubers and set up witth the neck out of the compost starting to shoot and want to know if I take a cutting will it sprout again from th same shoot that I cut or will it have to come from another eye ? I didn't bury mine like you showed yours in the box

Great videos.... I have a few questions about cuttings and tubers. What is the benefit of taking cuttings versus planting the tubers also how long approximately will it take for the cuttings to be able to go into the ground.

Hi Steve I found you by accident and like your videos, have shared a couple on Facebook. I was wondering about the stem stretchers, do you buy them or make them? If you make them, could you please show us how/ Thank you!

Love the idea for the cold frame! I won't need one nearly that large but as a place to start cuttings and seeds, that looks ideal. When not in use for starts and seedlings it could double as a compost bin. Good job Steve.

I bought some Dahlias plants in 3 litre pots from the garden centre and they are growing quite well and flowering, do I have to dig them up in winter ? I have never had Dahlias before so not sure what to do.
