A fantastic, mostly traffic free, cycle ride along a very popular and scenic route in North Kent. I start from Seasalter and end in Margate. With stunning views throughout this ride is best done in good weather as the route is very exposed to the elements along most of it's length. I hope you enjoy the journey... :)

Wonderful video - thank you !
@@maureenarnold-hc4sg so glad you liked it Maureen and thanks for letting me know. 😃
Nice video Andy - brings back great memories of days past - Cheers Mate
@@seangburke1962 we’re still at it….😂😂
Even better than last years!
@@abagatelle we do try…..so glad you enjoyed it and took the time to let me know. Much appreciated…👍
It's only through stumbling upon this video that I have learnt of Mike Woolf's death. I met him 40 years ago when I rode my Moulton past his house in Chelsea and he caught me up half a mile down the road and insisted I went back for tea! We became good friends for a short period of time in the 80s, both in the world of Moultons and away from it. But we lost touch and I think the last time I saw him was his 40th birthday party. I am glad he is being well remembered by Moulton enthusiasts!
@@Zaranathax thanks for your interesting comment, I hope you enjoyed the video too! 🙂
Too many bromptons!!
@@johnpot7323 fair comment! 👍
@@andyml1 Didn't realize you was a brompton owner
@@johnpot7323 quite an enthusiastic one too. 😃 I hope you enjoyed the video.
And great music!
Nice one Andy - spotted a couple of 'rogue' Bromptons amongst the gang
@@seangburke1962 thanks Sean….we’ll spotted….👍😀
For those interested, our yellow tandem is based on a 1988 ATB. Some ten years ago, Doug Pinkerton built a centre section to form a tandem, and added a Rohloff 14 speed hub gear. Since then ARCC added their electric assist system. The bike can still be used as a solo by omitting the centre section.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, thanks for creating it.
@@joesprague1464 you’re very welcome Joe, and thanks so much for letting me know…👍😀
Excellent video with a very good soundtrack. Well done Andy.
Glad you enjoyed it Alan, hope you’re keeping well and maybe see you soon? 😀
@@andyml1 I'll try and catch up with you some time during the Summer. Unfortunately, my cycling days are over. Doctor's orders.
@@alanniel2603best to do as doctors advise I’m sure…take it easy meanwhile and maybe we’ll see you at a pub lunch stop?
@@andyml1 That would be good
Hi Andy, great video! I'm working on a bio about the brilliant Brunel. Mind if I use a few seconds of your video? I'm happy to credit you on-screen and link to the video in my description. Thank you for your time, Cindy
Thanks for asking - yes, go ahead. I wasn’t so confident with the drone back then and would do a better job now. There was also a lot of interference to the drone from the railway equipment so control was tricky.
@@andyml1 Thanks Andy, I appreciate it! I think the filming is good but I understand your eye to improve :)
I see the T-Line is getting a good workout!
Who can blame me? Just love riding it…..new chain went on yesterday. ❤️
Thanks Andy for another great video, that's not an erea that I know so very interesting to see that part of the world. Best Wishes Chris.
Thanks for your kind words Chris - I’ve only really recently discovered the cycling potential here myself. You can ride all the way along the coast from Whitstable around to Ramsgate, largely traffic free and railway stations every few miles. Ride safe. 👍😀
A superb ride Andy, thank you. Technically superb as always. Reculver looks good and is certainly on our list of places to visit, as is Canterbury.
Many thanks for your kind words Peter. Reculver is a firm favourite of mine - can also recommend visits to Deal and Walmer Castles…👍
Nice one! we did the viking trail last time with the Herne Bay Brompton group and it was fab. You captured the sceneries very well. What video cam you're using by the way? Keep uploading.
Glad you liked it Lito - the route seems very popular recently. I’ve just upgraded to a GoPro 12 which supposedly locks the horizon, not sure I’ve sussed this yet and also an Insta 360 One x2 (very much recommended, easy to use) 🤓
Another excellent video Andy! It’s always good to see rides that I have also done a few times, wonderful Kent coast and a bit of Ska what more could I ask for. Regards Grahame
You’re part of my target audience mate….we’re of an age…lol…glad you like it. I’ll never get bored with that coastline and Reculver is the cherry on the cake. Ride safe. 👍
Nice ride. Please can you state the music tracks you played?
Glad you liked it….in order…puer natus est nobis (Gregorian chant), love is a stranger - eurhytmics, dry acid - upsetters, one morning in May - Maxine Sullivan & Bob Wilber, kites - Simon Dupree , choo choo ch’boogie - Louis Jordan. 😀 hope this helps.
Great Vid Andy, what a lovely ride, Im thinking of getting a Brompton for this summer., looking forward to seeing more of you rides.
So glad you enjoyed it Chris and thanks for letting me know too. 😃 I’d definitely encourage you to get a Brommie - they’re so much fun and better at longer rides that you might imagine. 👍 - go for the lower gear option.
@@andyml1 Thanks for the tip Andy
Here comes the weekend as the soundtrack. Immediately hooked!
Glad you enjoyed it / I try to choose music carefully. 😀😀
That was a great ride - so scenic - plus now I know what a "wasp-cake" is. Getting out and about this time of year requires always racing against the sun.
Glad you liked it Scott - I try to research the rides quite well and this had some stunning scenery. I hope other viewers understood the joke reference to wasps in bakery windows. 😂😂 Ride safely my friend. 👍
Nice video. Do you have the standard four gears, and if so how did the work on this trip? 👍
Glad you liked it Gordon- thanks for letting me know….standard gearing on my T Line and I’m very happy with it. I thought I’d be investigating gearing mods soon after getting it but it’s great. It made my other Bromptons utterly redundant to be honest it’s such a joy to ride and so, so light.
Page 101 Raleigh was born about 1554 near Budleigh Salterton in Devonshire, England, within sight and sound of the sea.
In 1592 he lost Elizabeth's favor by his secret marriage to her one of her ladies-in-waiting, Elizabeth Throckmorton.
Many thanks for letting me know….i never knew that…👍
Great ride, it seemed. Would like to ride there with my t line when in UK. Liked, commented & subscribed
Thanks for your support Dashamin - I really enjoyed the ride and can recommend it. There’s even a Herne Bay Brompton group which specialises in this area…👍
@@andyml1 that's awesome!!
A thoroughly enjoyable video. Thank you very much.
So glad you enjoyed it Peter and took time to let me know. Thanks so much. 😃
Did the viking trail earlier this year.
It’s a great ride Rob …my favourite part is approaching Reculver…fantastic landmark. Will explore more of the interior of Kent in future…. 👍
@@andyml1 We did the full loop starting and finishing at Reculver.
Oooo Wonderful life by Black 😊great soundtrack M8ty
Many thanks Lee, I spend a lot of time considering suitable soundtracks and don’t always get it right either…lol…glad you enjoyed it anyway. 👍😀
Great Andy, what a lovely place to cycle unlike all our hills and mucky roads up here
Enjoyable, and informative video (as usual). Well done Andy.
Very kind of you to say so Alan, hope you’ll be joining us cycling soon. 👍👍
I rode with the group last year when they invited all small wheeled bikes. I was on my Brompton. Since then I've not been able to contact the group on Facebook maybe they went secret. th-cam.com/play/PLoeOLiH_XlMWpuqslncmlFqcMfBXKFEWa.html&si=o3ENhdoiuYK8VPgy

Nice video Andy. Looks like a good turnout.
I've just restored a Dawes Kingpin. Looking forward to riding it and joining a group ride one day.
I’m sure you’d be very welcome. There’s an active group on Facebook. 👍
The new Pen Pond Cafe looks so nice with the steamed bent wood, compared with the old caravan with added front.
Agreed Dave, it was actually removed entirely recently so I’m greatly relieved that it was due to an upgrade. 👍
Great!
Thanks Julian - glad you enjoyed it! 😃
Gah, I was recently being tempted by a used Bianchi minivelo. Why did this video have to come up? 🙃
Good grief…it can only be fate surely?….😂😂
Excellent. That 360º did a good job. Did you use FCP or Insta own program? Best Dave
Glad you liked it Dave. I used Insta 360 app on my iPad Pro then transferred the “flat” file to my iMac for use in iMovie. Within the 360 app is the very handy ViewFinder functionality….
Interesting production,it had kind of a Monty Pythonesque flavor to it.Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for your comment Joe, it wasn’t a fast paced ride and I wanted try some different music for once…😃
Interesting outing. Anybody ever show up with a tri-fold clone?
Not sure to be honest but one never knows…🫤
100% agree on soundtrack choice - excellent stuff Andy but have to say your arms are looking a bit long these days - maybe you’ve been catching too many large carp/pike ?🎣
Glad you like the music…but sadly haven’t been fishing for a few weeks now…been too hot but will get out again in the next few days. Good luck with your Tinca quest. 👍😃
I’d love to do this. Do you just rock up and ride? 👍
Absolutely….give it a go next year…👍
@@andyml1great way to see London without the traffic. Will definitely do it next year. Thanks for the reply. Cheers 👍
Brilliant Andy
I thought I recognised the theme to Captain Pugwash, that takes me back! How are you liking the T-Line, any mods planned?
Really impressed with the T Line, perfect for London. If I used it more in lumpy Devon I’d like a slightly wider gear range. A tad lower at one end and a tad higher at t’ other. I’ve swapped the original tyres and tubes for Conti Contact Urban tyres and Schwalbe tubes in the interests of robustness. Likely to consider hearing options at some stage. 👍
Brilliant and two of my favourite songs
So pleased you enjoyed it gtex, I spend a lot of time trying different tracks and don’t always get things right by any means…ride safe! 😃
… ❤️ a great bike event ❤️ beautiful routing ❤️ ultralight new Brompton ❤️ Stan Getz 🎷 ❤️ an absolutely fantastic AML media production ❗️THANKS for sharing ❗️
Many thanks for your kind words Piet., much appreciated. However I always feel they could be much better if I put more effort into recording and editing. The main aim, above all, is to enjoy the ride though. 😀
What an awesome sight to behold! I think that the collective noun for these wonderful bicycles should be "a Coolness of Kingpins".
Good job Andy - not many cyclists compared with previous ride London’s mate 🚴
Really glad you enjoyed it Sean. I think you’re right but worth bearing in mind I went up earlier this year and didn’t include footage when it was “busy”. I wonder if Brighton might arrange similar one year?
I would love to do this ride.
You’d be very welcome James. 😀
Wow, what a big group!!!
I thought so too….pretty impressive! 👍
