Beautiful! Blotting with clean coffee filters (instead of paper towels) will put you ahead of the game on the next batch.
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll try that next time.
@@vintagehillstudio I tried you method and made (from one 200 pack of filters) 22 carnation-like flowers!!! I am completely in love with this method and just bought more filters! Thank you!!
@@dancersdigst1754 I am so excited that you tried the coffee filter flowers. I'm happy to hear that you found the video helpful. Happy crafting!
My first visit to your channel. I love all things sewing!
Welcome! I enjoy repurposing these sewing patterns to give them a new life! The art on these sewing packets is phenomenal! Thank you for dropping by.
Hi Melanie! What a fabulous way to repurpose the candle label. Lovely bookmark.
Thank you!
Let me know if you need an address to send that to lol
Ha! Ha! Than you for dropping by and leaving a comment. Glad you liked this card.
That’s pretty ❤
I can’t take credit for the talented person who embroidered this beauty. I was just happy to salvage it for a new purpose.
Loved your video. We just ran across vintage patterns of our mother's, some back to mid 1940's, and are looking for ideas to do with them.
Oh, how exciting about your Mother’s patterns! I love the artwork that was done for the packaging back then. The newer patterns can’t even come close to that eras artwork. I have a few videos demonstrating how to use old patterns. Feel free to check out my playlist. TY for stopping by my channel. Hope you drop by again sometime.
Absolutely gorgeous, Melanie! Perfect fall card. Thanks for sharing your techniques for painting it.
I was inspired by watercolorist Joly Poa. My tree looks a bit rustic compared to what watercolor artists can do, but I keep trying. 😀
I wish you had turned it into a picture that she could frame and have FOREVER……love it…Thankyou very much…hugs carolyn from Columbus Georgia
I think it could still be framed, don't you? I was happy to save this jewel from going into the trash.
Love this!!! You are so creative!!!
Thank you!
Hi Melanie! Awesome pumpkin card. Thanks for sharing your process on making the accordian element...it's the easiest to follow that we've ever seen!
Thank you!
Hi Melanie! Lovely card and great find of that stamp set. We're always stoked too when we can find a nice set at a thrift store. We are enjoying lovely weather the last few days...dry and around 70F...warm for end of October here in Northeast Ohio.
Thank you! I’m trying my best to enjoy the Fall, especially since stores are hauling out the Cmas stuff already. Shouldn’t we enjoy each season in its own time?
Hi Melanie! Super fun Halloween card with the vintage costume patterns.
That was so much fun to make! Happy crafting!
Fabulous!
Thank you! I’m so happy you enjoyed the video. Happy crafting!
Hi Melanie! We enjoyed seeing another one of your takes on a window card and adorable jack-o-lanterns!
Glad you liked it!
Always enjoy a good tutorial. Ty for sharing.
Well, thank you for dropping by! Happy crafting.
I love the roses. They are gorgeous!!
Thank you! It was a happy coincidence that they resemble a rose. I really didn't know how they would turn out.
So adorable. Love it.😊
Thank you! I love to be able to give old, torn and stained linens a new life.
Hi Melanie! Cool idea to use tissue paper in a window card. Card looks great inside and out!
Thank you! I'm always trying to think of something new for cards (at least "new" to me).
Thanks for sharing. Cute.
TY for the feedback and you are welcome! It's hard to resist these adorable House Mouse stamps. They always bring a smile to my face!
Hi Melanie! Your flowers turned out lovely...thanks, as always, for sharing!
I had to change it up a bit and try something new. It was oddly satisfying to watch the filters soak up the food coloring! Happy crafting @twinsrock
Hi Melanie! Lovely card for autumn. Thanks for sharing your process.
Thank you for your feedback.
Hi Melanie! Fun new home card! An idea we had for a way to add a sentiment without covering up any of the cute paper would be to add the sentiment as a little tag and hang it off the key like a keychain.
Love your idea! I’ll have to try that. TYFS your feedback. I appreciate it.
Such a creative and sweet card! 💗
Thank you! I couldn't justify cutting it, so I had to get creative. Happy crafting.
This is wonderful! Beautiful work! 💗
Thank you for the feedback. I was humbled to be asked to create these cards from the vintage linen. I'm happy it is no longer sitting in the bottom of a drawer or worse. Someone spent a bit of time on the embroidery so I'm happy it is now in multiple forms that can be shared.
These are beautiful! Thank you for the ideas on how to use every bit of the linen scarf. 💗
Thank you! I'm always in my happy place when working with old, stained, torn linens. I enjoy saving that type of handwork and repurposing it into something useful. 😀
Hi Melanie! These bookmarks are great and amazing that you used every piece of that beautiful table scarf! The border looked to us to be crocheted (rather than tatted), but maybe that's just how the stitches were looking on our screen.
TY for the feedback. I don't have the cards or bookmarks in my possession, or I would look more closely at the trim pieces. You have a good eye. Tatting is rows of curved stitches and crochet is a series of loops pulled through one another. Whatever it was, someone did a lovely job of finishing the edges of that dresser scarf.
Hi Melanie! Gorgeous cards and how wonderful that you could get 10 out of the table scarf. Can't wait to see what you do with the scraps next week!
Thank you! It was a fun challenge.
wow this card is so awesome😍😍😍. l wanna give it a try
Please do give it a try. You won't be disappointed! Happy crafting.
super cute, never saw this fold before. Thank you.
It was easier than it looks, which always a nice thing. TY for dropping by and leaving a comment. Happy crafting!
Hi Melanie! Fun interactive feature on this card. Thanks for the step-by-step instructions for creating it.
TY. Yes, it was fun and easy!
Hi Melanie! What a creative way to showcase that beautiful vintage hankie!
Thank you! I couldn't cut this one; it was in pristine condition.
Goodness Mel you are one smart cookie! I need to get down in my basement! Yes I do! Shirley
You, go Shirley! Happy crafting!
Hi Melanie! We're crocheters! Great re-use of that crocheted piece for a lovely birthday card.
TY. What do you think it was in its former life? Pot holder?
Gorgeous ❤ love it. Thank you for sharing ❤
TY for taking the time to drop me a comment. So happy to get your feedback.
How cute
Thank you for dropping by. These old ads are so much fun to look through. The paper is rather brittle though, so it was satisfying to give them a new purpose.
Hi Melanie! Great fun fold and use of the circa 1960 periodical in the layout.
Thank you! Those ads are a hoot!!!
Beautiful as usual.
TY. It was an honor to repurpose this beautiful handwork.
I may have to take up card making! 🥰
You crack me up! Thanks for bringing a smile to my life today.
This is so beautiful, I love it. What a unique idea, so resourceful. : )
Thank you. I couldn't let that tatting go to waste. I love to repurpose old, stained, torn linens.
Hi Melanie! Great bookmark from the leftover piece the the package...cool how you collaged with different pieces from the booklet.
TY. It was fun!
This one definitely has my brain spinning. 🤪 Instead of butterflies vintage buttons, sewing notions. Your work is such an inspiration. ❤
TY. I'm happy to learn that you were inspired. Love your ideas of using sewing notions! I'd love to see what you create. Happy crafting!
I am the worst at wanting to keep everything I make...this would be one of those. Beautiful!!
Ha! Ha! I'm hoping that the recipient will want to keep this card. Someone put a lot of work put into the embroidery a long, long time ago... I'm just satisfied to give it a new life.
You absolutely amaze me with every project you create. 😮 ❤
Wow! You just made my day. TY so much!
Magnificent idea!!
TY! She captured my heart with that sassy attitude and stance. I had to make her the center of attention.
Fabulous card, Melanie! We love how you use the sewing patterns for cards and are so looking forward to next week's video using the other pieces from this one!
TY and now you know I have a problem with salvaging vintage sewing patterns... I love the artwork in this one so much!!!
Hi Melanie. 3 gorgeous cards! What a great way to repurpose that lovely embroidered tablecloth section.
I have an obsession with the old linens.
Hi Melanie! Great card! Such a fun idea to stamp the greeting on the butterflies and have them 'fly' out of the jar. Love how you made the jar too. We're not canners, but are fermenters, so have and use a lot of Ball jars.
Here's a nod to all Mason Ball jar users. Ya'll keep doing what you do best and I'll keep making cards. LOL!
Hi Melanie! Really lovely card with the embossing and vellum.
TY. Never underestimate a simple card.
Hi Melanie! We're 'never say die' over here at Twins Rock Studio too! Your card turned out really nice. We like the highlighting technique on the waves and shading between the waves and sand. The extra colors in the sun gave it a lot of visual dimension. It's also really cool how you curved the sentiment.
TY. I couldn't let the "sun set" on this one...
You rescued the card.
Yes, I had to finish it and post the video before we left for a real beach vacay. Thanks for dropping me a comment!
