I was Army Field Artillery from 09-13. Never been on a combat deployment. Was only stationed in Korea. This is the shit that keeps me awake at night. Having to live with not being on a deployment. I don’t ever feel worthy. Im trying to reframe my mindset to the fact that there were days in Korea, especially 2010, where our lives were definitely at risk. Look up when North Korea bombed that island. I was about 10 miles from the DMZ at Camp Casey.. But mother fucker, am I proud. I am so proud to be part of the brotherhood. Been out for a decade now and am just now starting to accept and be proud of serving. I was so ashamed of it because of the toxic leaders I had. And it’s crazy. I have SO many marine friends now and hardly any army. I fucking love my marine brothers and sisters. You guys are great people.
