Learn the difference between Washington (the city) in the District of Columbia on the east coast and Washington State on the west coast. Northern State Hospital was never a military installation. It's difficult to take you seriously when you start out with bloopers like that.

Tonopah AAF had nothing to do with the F-117 Fighter program in the 70s and 80s. Those aircraft were tested and flown from the Tonopah Test Range Airport.

So you like to CRY about homeless people messing up your town? You just saw affordable housing for at least 1,000,000 people in California alone... all WASTED. Hoarded by the BLM. "The People's land" always seems to be off limits to "the people", doesn't it? "But it's contaminated doe!" Yea? GIVE PEOPLE JOBS CLEANING IT UP. Or just give out welfare checks, let everyone sleep on your sidewalk. It's CORRUPTION.

Did you pull these out of a hat? You include tiny and insignificant bases and ignore some major baes that were significant in the history of the military in Texas. Also, learn the correct pronunciation of bases before commenting on them.

They forgot Norton AFB, San Bernadino. I flew C-141s out of Norton between 1984-87. It was closed in the 1990s. San Bernadino has suffered from the loss.

Nice presentation, I learned a few things. A few suggestions: Pronunciations: Bos-kay, Mesi-ya, there were one or two others. There were a lot of WW2 air bases in New Mexico, not just Walker. There was Kirtland at Albuquerque (still used), Hobbs (now an industrial air center), Las Cruces, Deming.

i remember goin down to the Presidio for the first time and i went to the old officer’s club which is now a museum and it’s even haunted! i went to McClellan Air Force Base so many times and it’s now owned by the Coast Guard and the California Air National Guard and there’s an aerospace museum that i used to go to a lot with my Air Force JROTC unit! i even went to the old Fort Ord Army base and the only thing that’s still standing are old buildings like the old chow hall and the old barracks and there’s now huge VA hospital at the former site of the Army base! i found out that Fort Ord was used as a training grounds mainly the beach for amphibious landings! i went to Mare Island Naval Base one time and there’s tons of old WWII era bunkers on top of the hills near the museum and there’s still an base chapel that’s still standing to this day and it’s one of the oldest buildings in the site! i remember goin around the old barracks and the officer’s quarters and they really got me back in time! 🤙🏽

The Stanley Nicholson safeguard complex was not built to defend any city or any of the U S population. If they had built it to defend the country and population centers they would have put it near a population center, of which the Dakotas are noticeably short on. Guess why they put it out by the missile fields?

I lived not far from Webb AFB, I was stationed at the Kelly AFB Security Hill. I lived in the closed Amarillo AFB housing while stationed at the Amarillo MEPS unit. Most of the bases and stations that I was stationed at have been long closed 😢 In my 22 years active duty, with 14 years of that in Texas, I've never heard of Biggs 🤔

NAS Alameda has changed some but off the base proper behind the entrance gates. Old naval housing has been replaced, yes. However all the old administrative buildings, in the core, and the outlying hangers remain. They are simply rented out as is. I have been on the former base every weekend since June 1998 to work on the Hornet so I can see what has changed incrementally. Same goes for Mare. Mostly not much in the way of any tear downs but simply renting out of buildings that are deemed safe while others remain closed for anything.

Castle was my first duty station in 1981 until 1983. It was a really neat place. The entire San Joaquin Valley is a mind blower in itself. There is a YT vid someone uploaded of them driving around the entire base. I was shot in 2015 or so. Brought back a lot of memories.
