Chytrid Fungus: How Gene Editing Could Save Amphibians from a Deadly Pathogen
Amphibians are facing their greatest threat yet: chytrid fungus, a disease responsible for the extinction of 90+ species and declines in 500 or more. The Colossal Foundation is taking action with a $3 million commitment over three years to the Pask and Frankenberg Lab at the University of Melbourne. Learn how cutting-edge genetic research could create immunity for endangered frogs and help restore balance to fragile ecosystems.

Why is this interference necessary? How is it not just another natural event in play if the fungus isn't man made ?

While cloning animals does that mean that they will all only be one gender so none will be breedable or will y’all clone one and breed it with something with the same blood line as it ( Srry I don’t know how this de - extinction works)

What about de evolving a chicken would that work hyperthicticly using CRISPR, TALENS, ZFNs, and Foki, could that hyperthicticly mean we could bring back the Trex or is there maybe another way? Cause I know amber doesn't work and I knew fossils are super super cool rocks but is there a way of bringing back dinosaurs possibly by mixing different animals DNA together? Or as I said Ed Evolution? I bet there is a way of getting dinosaur like animals back but not true dinosaurs and I think someone should try to get dinosaur like animals cause I wanna see how close we can get plus ngl would make a ton of money lol

There was an attempt in 2013 by Newcastle University. However, the embryos did not live up to the tadpole stage. Maybe the research on this immunity can aid in that project because that would prevent it from becoming extinct again.

Its like farting in front of your partner in a long-term relationship. You can and will at this point, but you'd still prefer them to not be in the room. Thats what what was happening here, elephant had to fart (wanted to clean itself off in the big puddle) and didn't want the croc to be around to smell it (to be around when it was letting it all out, the gas)
