    I had meant to inquire on the door dimensions. If you would please give some info regarding those rails and stiles, that'd be great? I see that the inner stiles are not as wide as the outer.

    This was excellent. Thank you. I totally plan on emulating your plan for my upcoming kitchen cabinets project. One question...there's no issue with the stiles cracking when putting in the pocket screws?

    Your face frame was flush with the edge of the cabinet and extended to the outside of it. Mine has the frame coming to the inner side of the cabinet. Is there something for that?

  • @markolmstead4709

    If the drawers and doors are full overlay, why spend the time making a faceframe when you could just cover the edges of the plywood walls? Seems like that would be faster, which you said is your objective.

    Excellent work. Really enjoying your videos. One comment on the Blum hinges. To avoid the plywood build up you can use Blum 29mm Cruciform plate 173H9130.18. It works perfectly with inset face frames.

    Well, you have inspired me to put in the extra effort. I am fitting some inset cabinet doors now. I usually go overlap, but I wanted that inset look for this project. Good to see that even the pros have to put in the work and there is no real shortcut. I will get to work scribing and sanding. Good thing there are only four doors on this project!

    You’ve got some great suggestions in this video. I’m gonna try this method for some shop drawers. I need in my as assembly station. Basically it’s like making a tablesaw sled and then adding sides that are longer. Why do you use a pneumatic oscillating sander as opposed to using a cordless or a plug-in? Is that just something you were using back then?

    • @jeffpagnutti
      @jeffpagnutti 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You use half crank (meaning it's offset from side panel about 3/8) plus a 9mm plate. The 9mm plate plus the 9mm (from the half crank) kicks the door 18mm inset as compared to full overlay. In other words, your using half crank hinges to get a half overlay, then pairing it with a 9mm high plate, then installing the plate back farther than you would on full overlay (you install the plate back by the thickness of your door) so it's inset and within the frame opening..

    I'm confused about the measurements at the 2:25 min mark. It's a little blurry, so I'm not sure I'm reading it right, but it looks like 27.5 in for the height of the center doors and 6, 9.75, and 11.75 for the heights of the side drawers. Should the middle doors be 28 in high to account for the 1/4 in gaps between the drawers?

    • @cabinetwise
      @cabinetwise 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Really appreciate that . Thanks . Really no reason other than our standard practice for all cabinets is maple interior. If someone wants to pay more we do continue that same wood throughout the inside . We recently did some walnut cabinets that were all walnut inside including walnut drawers . Using all oak is definitely a good choice !

    Nice work mate. A couple of suggestions though - you've got a Festool dust collector so hook it up to the sanders and you won't be covered in so much dust and crap. Second, I think you should wear safety glasses around the machine you use to bore the holes for the hinges on the door. There's a lot a crap coming out of the bits and you you wouldn't want to get something in your eye. Keep up the good work and especially the navel gazing as that's how we develop as a person.
