Lower Hunter Floodplain Cumulative Development

The NSW Government provided funding for a pilot project to create better planning controls to manage floodplains. Port Stephens Council, Maitland City Council and City of Newcastle have worked together to develop proposed planning controls that will be on exhibition later this year. By working together, Council's can improve the way flood risks are managed.

    Thank you, this is such a beautiful dreaming. This video should be shown to every one who passes through the Worimi Conservation Lands - whether by 4WD or using the dune buggies. I love the four elements in this story: wind, sea, storm and sun. It's so similar to Greek creation stories that are shared across hemispheres - like the Pleiades/Seven Sisters Dreaming. Thank you to Worimi elder Uncle Graeme Russell for sharing and telling such a beautiful dreaming. And the link to Tanilba Bay. I think there's a Dreaming story there as well, waiting to be told...

    How about you stop wasting money on an expensive ute for the mayor, or the disastrous intersection at Town Centre Circuit, Salamander Bay, which had to be redone? Live within your means and spend ratepayer's money wisely instead of slugging residents.

    We simply love them. How could we not! They deserve all the protection they can get. And for that, The Koala Protection Act is a must! So that we don't end up seeing them only in sanctuaries and zoos!

      Hi Stuart, Thanks for your question. This plant is a Pittosporum. It's native, but sometimes can appear to grow like a weed.

    We at Tilligerry Landcare look forward to finding how council is going to protect the koala habitat and the infrastructure in Tanilba Boardwalk area of Tanilba Bay greatly under threat. We also hope to hear how Peace Park headland can be repaired.
