Double drop is whatever drop tuning an octave down, the name makes zero sense. Playing with the octaver is kinda just a different thing You might've seen it but Nick Broomhall's thick riff thursday series is fairly similar to this. Usually just does a riff by itself in each video.

Thanks for the fantastic video 🤩 Just FYI if you click the "Map" icon on the lower left in Beat Scholar you can map each drum pad to it's corresponding note in GGD, then just click the preset menu and hit "Enable">"Sampler" so you turn off the built-in sampler. This way you can use Beat Scholar to directly control GGD...

Neural DSP makes really good plugins. The plini sounds like it has more in the high frequencies. The gojira is great too but I think it can get muddy quickly. The answer is use both. Pan one left and the other right.

Might be tight if the snare and the kick followed the guitar when it goes back into full time, or accent ghost notes on the snare that match what the guitar is doing

Maybe try like some cymbals right before the breakdown instead of toms, like snare, china, open high hat, ride bell in that brief moment before the drop

The petrucci plugin sounds pretty cool man. I've never used it. I tell you what...I'm loving the newer Nameless update. I find myself reaching for it more than the Gojira these days.

This idea would be a nice addition alongside that last track you were working on, send or tag me with the audio you got on both of those songs, also I think maybe you could drop into half time on that riff as like a 1 measure bridge, then right back into full time or something similar, I definitely hear that as both fast and slow
