Will the fxr6 zoom rocker still control the lens zoom?
@@Jordan-e2u no it doesn’t. The zoom rocker will do clear image zoom, but if you want it to control the lens then you’ll need a lens like the Sony 28-135mm f4.

I had the luck of having a studio hand and holy moly it really does help especially when it's a larger set with props n what nog
having an extra pair of hands can be very helpful! Thanks for commenting.
This is a useful comparison. Good to see when a dynamic mic sounds better than a lav.
Glad it was helpful!
huge fan Clinton. You have been so versatile! An amazing portfolio of work and work opportunities. An international star on our doorstep. And a pretty humble guy too. So many big names you didnt mention and could have. Thank you for the amazing experience of my daughters wedding, and the art classes to my kinder kids. All wonderful.
If you had done your job and done your research you would have bought the fx30 from the start

As a TH-cam University graduate as far as video goes, I appreciate the vast knowledge that's these available to us to learn anything you like. However, having studied audio production at RMIT, I can definitely see the merit in formal education. The things I learnt in the course gave me a really solid foundation to build from and I can only imagine if I'd studied film in a similar way I would have advanced much quicker and probably be better overall. When I meet people who learnt audio online they are often quite skilled but I also find some holes in their knowledge and base concepts and I think that's due to the lack of structure in teaching yourself. It seems the ideal situation is formal education supplemented with self learning online but it's also true that University is not a prerequisite for success, just a really good tool.
@@jonpaultucker great thoughts!

With final cut pro, do you realize that the quality of the footage is compromised?
Does anyone know why my 24-105mm f4 paired with my fx6 vibrates from 70 to 105mm? It vibrates but as soon as I turn off the OSS it stops vibrating… Does anyone have run into this issue?
@@YuriBertacchi I never had that issue sorry! It could be something physical with the lens.
@@YourStoryStudios yeah that’s what I was thinking too! Because I tried with other lenses and they do not vibrate. The only thing that I still don’t understand is.. when I pair that lens with my a7siii the lense does not vibrate… It’s really strange ! Btw thank you for replying
@@YuriBertacchi You could try possibly a lens firmware update on the FX6 and see if that changes anything.
Great video! I just started a video production podcast as well. Been doing video for 20 years so I figured it was time... I'm also an FX6 user. If you're looking for a great B-cam for the FX6 definitely consider the FX3 or FX30. I use all 3 at my production company and they match really well.
Thanks! I've just got the FX30 and will be putting it to use in future videos :)
@@YourStoryStudios Nice! Just a heads up, the white balance on FX6 and FX30 don't quite match out of camera. If you use manual WB then set FX30 200 kelvin cooler than the FX6 and they'll match almost perfectly. At least for my units 🤣
@@storykingstudios appreciate the tip!
So not a video about a7cII ... If you want to provide meaningful content, move past the clickbait nonsense

I have a Panasonic Lumix G9M2 mirrorless camera. Quick question. Do I clean the sensor with the camera turned on or off? Some say on to lock the sensor others say off. Bit confused. Also do I turn the image stabilization on or off? In all the videos I have seen these questions are not addressed. Help/Advice please.
@@geoffreykingston4866 I’m not quite sure sorry!
Thank you for the video. How do you connect the Lav and handheld to work together? is that possible?
Yes, you can sync channel 1 to the lav transmitter and channel 2 with the handheld microphone. I use the Sony handheld microphone which has it's own transmitter built in.
@@YourStoryStudios thank you! I would appreciate you have a link to instructions or video tutorial.
I found out that increasing the brightness removes the flickering 😊
I might give that a try! Thanks for the tip.
@@YourStoryStudios the brightness of the Lametric clock, I meant. I have the latest firmware but was still struggling with this unless I set the shutter speed to 1/40 instead of 1/50. But increasing the brightness of the Lametric while remaining at 1/50 or 1/60 is even better :)
@@AFrenchguyinEngland yep, I understood what you meant 😉 I’ll try it out today. Appreciate the tip!
I just tried turning the brightness up to 100% and the lines are still there. For the FX6, if I turn the shutter angle to 150 instead of 180 it goes. For the a7s3 if I go to 1/40 it goes, OR I can shoot in DCI 4K at 24p and it goes at 1/48.
@@YourStoryStudios interesting results. Which option will you select? But before you make your choice, could you please make the tests again but this time unplugging the power supply and using the usb cable with power bank that outputs 5V & 2A, to power the Lametric? This will remove the grid phasing factor from the equation. Please let me know what you find out.
😊

Overheating 🥵
@@YourStoryStudios if it’s 24/25p I don’t think it’s that much of an issue. Memory card would likely be used up first
@@JimmyCheng That's what I was leaning towards, but then I found the a7CII which was cheaper and would do what I wanted... then I discovered the FX30 did pretty much everything I wanted, minus full frame. FX30 should be coming soon and I'll be sure to make a video about my findings!
I was considering A7CII/ Instead, I switched over to the Lumix S5II for the open gate, perfect for an creator that wants to record for both horizontal and vertical. If you even go to S5IIX, you get the ability to record to an SSD, ProRes, and BRAW. For the price of both, you can grab many more lenses as well.
It was a compelling option, but I've gone with the FX30. We'll see how it pans out!
That happens when you've got too much money burning holes in your pockets...

THIS LOUD MUSIC DRIVES ME MAD!!! I'm in the middle of your video trying to get useful information and it feels like I'm watching a sci-fi movie. You can't be serious! (Mc Enroe would say)
Mistakes were made. But thank you for watching! I hope you end up getting the info you needed! (shouting over music)
@@YourStoryStudios Yeah, I watched multiple videos on this Fotodiox product and finally decided not to buy it. The electronics inside is kind of a russian roulette. It even killed one guy's brand new camera. Sorry for being too harsh in my previous comment. I've spent too much time to get to the information I needed and got a little antsy.

@@YourStoryStudios both. Still happy but want the stabilization and other great stuff in the GH7. Wanting the new one doesn’t stop me from still shooting with what I have
@@MartinBlasick great philosophy!
A7C2 is crop shooting video camera so you haven't lost anything by moving to the FX30.
a7Cii is full frame at 4K 25p. It crops at 4K 50/60p.
@@YourStoryStudioswhat about 30fps?
@@fnatic7629 I think anything over 30fps it crops.
WTF! $3,500...$6,600 cameras that you are using to making videos that most slugs watch on a little tiny screen? I use an iPhone SE...$200, and I can get 15 of those things for infinite camera angles. Your waisting time and money on expensive toys instead of creating!
The FX30 is a great camera for that situation. I swapped out the EVA for an FX30 with the top handle and FX3 combo and they’ve both been complete workhorses. For me, the FX30 gives me the look I came to love with the EVA, but with reliable autofocus.
I loved my EVA1, minus the lack of continuous auto-focus. Will be interesting to see how I find the FX30!
lmao don't do it. everyone thinks they won't care that it's crop sensor. then they get it and realize they really LOVE full frame.
That thought did cross my mind, but I think if I get the right lenses I should be fine. I'll make a video on my findings as soon as I get the camera and Sony 15mm lens 👍
@@YourStoryStudiosI’m not a video guy but very happy with my E 15mm f/1.4 G that I use on my Sony A6700. Excellent quality even though it’s one of my more expensive APS-C primes lenses. My others are mostly Sigma primes or zooms but do find the two Viltrox f/1.2 lenses extremely good IQ 😮
@@stevenwaldstein2249 nice! I’ve got the Sony 15mm 1.4 sitting in my studio waiting for the FX30 to arrive! Looking forward to putting it to work.
Totally understand the pain of setting up. My fiancé and I share her A7RV for her photography and my TH-cam work. We’re currently thinking about getting a second camera for big event shoots and mainly stay setup for content.
Another A7RV or another camera?
@@YourStoryStudios I really think we might go with an A7RV. It feels the most versatile and appropriate if we need high resolution photos in the scenario of doing a wedding or something editing intensive. It also has the new color technology that I prefer out of the Sony lineup. The stabilization is excellent and when we get to doing content work it has excellent video specs.
@@LashonEvans216 Nice! Sounds like a good plan 👍
I got an FX-30 last year and LOVE it. Being in a studio you don't even notice the lesser sensor vs the FX3
That is encouraging to hear! Thanks for watching and commenting.
What lens do you normally use?
@@YourStoryStudios I got a F1.8 20mm Sony G lens. Does great, and if i upgrade the the FX3 in the future, it's full frame so I can still use it
@@TheWorshipPortal Great thinking!
You'd probably better off with the Lumix S9 for YT studio only.
I think I've changed my mind again... not going with a Lumix, probably another Sony!
@@YourStoryStudios The A7c2 is a great camera too.
@YourStoryStudios what did you choose? I was looking at the same 2 cameras?
@@goawaybaizuo I've gone with the Sony FX30 because it ticked all the boxes I had, minus being full frame. I could have got the FX3, but couldn't justify the extra cost. I'm wanting to purchase 3 all up for my podcast studio, so 3 FX30s is more cost efficient than 3 FX3s.
@YourStoryStudios gotcha, that is definitely fantastic for a YT studio camera! I need something for work. I need a true hybrid. It will be used about 60% for product photography and 40% for YT and other social videos. I have been desperately trying to decide. The s5iix really hits all the marks, but the crop at 4k60 kind of sucks. Also, because it's photo centric with product photography, I think I need higher resolution. Ugh, it's been a true pain to find something in my budget (like 3500 max with new lenses)
It’s definitely helpful for some situations, adding a bit more stability when comparing to handheld, but it doesn’t look much professional when showing up on set for client works, sad but true. They’re like, how am I paying so much to this guy shooting with a cushion? Optics are important too in our industry where you deliver an intangible product, like a video. What I like about it, it’s for carrying a rigged camera on the backseat of the car between locations when time is limited. Very helpful. Cheers
Overall, whenever I use this on my shoots (which is all the time), the client doesn't seem to be put off. If anything, they see something they haven't seen before and are impressed.
Poor sensor readout is not only detrimental to very fast motion and whip pans, it affects the OVERALL MOTION RENDERING negatively. The result is more jello like footage regardless of what you do. Gyro stabilization is also negatively impacted.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
In terms of Lumix, the specs look good and Panasonic went all out in giving us features, but there is a HUGE CATCH. The elephant in the room that all of these Lumix fan boys and morons fail to consider is how CHEAP of a sensor and processor Panasonic decided to use. That is why it SEEMS like the new Lumix are a "good deal". The result is HORRIBLE ROLLING SHUTTER and sensor readout.
For YT you don't need fast readout. :D listen to what the video is about. He does NOT need A7S3 for YT studio and for talkinghead Lumix is brilliant, and the S9 would perfectly fit. Small formfactor, articuliting screen, variety of codecs.
The S9 has a recording limit though, doesn't it? I haven't really looked into that camera.
@@YourStoryStudios yes, and no option for voice recording, only externally.
@@iammz81 If you want handheld shots, slow readout leads to jello effect.
@@thatchinaboi1 I don't think he'll do much handheld in the studio.
Looks like neither of them now that Nikon Z6iii is announced. 🤣🤣🤣
I haven't looked into that camera. What makes it a good choice?
Why would you switch from the a7s3? No camera under 4 grand has been able to compete with it in the last 4 years. I switched to lumix for the s5iix and regret it every single day. The sensor really does suck. TBH, I think they need an updated log curve or something. The image is aweful. For photo it’s actually amazing Moire ruined a corporate shoot for us
I'm keeping the a7s3 for my professional work, but for my TH-cam studio and podcast recording, the a7s3 is overkill. The Sony a7cii looks to be at a good price point and has the features I need. It also has the ability to bake in user LUTs, which the a7s3 doesn't have. That's a feature I'm wanting to help speed up my editing workflow. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@YourStoryStudios a7cii is amazing for that. It’s more pro level than people think. I wish it had full size hdmi but NBD.
