This is a case documentary of the ice-reservoir making project of Avalanche Harvesting. Avalanches are regular phenomenon in Gilgit-Baltistan, that spreads over large area, cause damages and are evaporated in early Spring. If the avalanche snow debris is trapped where possible, then it becomes a snow and ice-reservoir. Under the University of Baltistan's GLOF Risk Reduction project, Dr. Zakir Hussain Zakir initiated Avalanche Harvesting technique here is the success story.
