    Thank you so much for this! Have had my old analog humidistat hanging along with my nest for a year now. Watched videos and read articles going over furnace wiring diagrams but couldn't figure it out. This was my exact setup, with humidifier and humidistat connected to a transformer. Thanks again!

    Who makes this unit? midea?mistubishi? gree? Can it be staged with y1/y2 inputs when doing non-communicating, or it is just a on/off slow ramp up, or does it modulate to maintain target indoor coil pressure? trane doesn't like to publish the technical documentation to the public, apparently.

    • @kookrainian
      @kookrainian ปีที่แล้ว

      We can help with more information at Www.theheatingninja.com The trane resolute is still new and will be the main unit going forward so documents are widely available yet. I can send pdf if needed. This is a variable communicating unit and should be used with a matching communicating controller and furnace for best performance. But you can also use it as a 2 stage unit for any 2 stage systems..

    Hello, I'm contemplating between a Reznor 45,000 or 60,000 BTU natural gas for my approximately 700 to 720 square foot garage. right now the price difference is only like $30 bucks. Everything I read for my climate and garage size states 45,000, would it hurt or would it not be as efficient if I go with a 60,000 btu? Also is the mounting brackets you have from Reznor? Lastly everything I read online is that they should at least be 8 foot off the ground, the problem is my garage ceiling is only 8 foot off the ground. So the 45,000 BTU would be about 7 feet off the ground and the bigger 65,000 btu would be about 6.7 feet off the ground. would that still work? thank you

    • @kookrainian
      @kookrainian ปีที่แล้ว

      Happy to help out if your in or around calgary! Otherwise, differenc between 45k and 60k will be amount of time it takes to heat the space- 15 min compared to 8 min. More isn't always better, and depends your plans for use in the garage. You can maintain heat with a 30k even. Height I never considered, most garages ceilings are 9' and higher the better and that's where I stick, because they have flow dampers to Direct it up and down. On short ceilings, we use 2x 2 angle and have a 1" separation from ceiling and unit minimum. Taller ceilings we use clutch and cable system which are sold specially for these systems

    Thanks for posting this video, nice install. I'm considering installing the UDX60 to replace a Modine HD60. Unfortunately, I'm 2 hours North of Edmonton, otherwise we may be able to use your services. The Modine is very loud (measured at 60 dba at 15' using NIOSH app), which is causing issues in this garage that is used as an office (36 x 25 x 9.5 ceilings). How do you find the UDX60 for noise? It's specs state its 40 dba at 15'. Thanks!

    • @kookrainian
      @kookrainian ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the insulation, clutch and cable or hanger and isolator springs will work best. I haven't put my meter on to check the dB level, but it's definitely the quietest unit out there besides the UDZ reznor. UDZ is also rated at 40bd but I beg to differ from the specs.

      That's what I asked to my electrician and he confirmed it was not required according the local code. It's the location, height and clearance code or something in those lines. I'm not an electrician, so I hired my contractor for the power. The electrical inspection was passed by the city of Calgary. I would recommend to get this completed by a certified electrician and please obey your local city codes as district will have different codes

    Why didn’t you get combustion/intake air from outside? Did you install any ventilation to bring in fresh air?

    • @kookrainian
      @kookrainian ปีที่แล้ว

      Old contraction windows and gaps in calgary its not required for the city or the heater But this garage does have a fresh air dump anyways It would depend in what your doing in the shop. Any chemical or woodwork I would recommend the reznor udz separate combustion air
