I need a monkey to go with my grom. I can’t decide between the 4 speed or the 5 speed though. I have the 5 speed in the grom. But the 4 speed motor add ons have become cheaper and the big bore kits are bigger than the 22+ five speeds.

@@nikkischeekymonkey don’t worry and keep trying, I road a bike for a year on a CBT license, but I still took 3 attempts to pass the full license. It will happen if want it to and don’t give in. At the moment you are thinking about riding and using the controls which don’t leave much time to think about what’s happening around you. Eventually like driving a car, if you keep at it, you will stop thinking about pulling in the clutch, changing gear using the break, indicating you will just do it subconsciously and then everything will slow down and not feel rushed and you will be able to concentrate on what is happening around you. Good luck next week 👍

@ozzyprogdomino8815 thank you, it's a lot to take in and remember. Well done you. That was a massive improvement. It’s not easy stepping out of your comfort zone, but when you do and don’t give up it makes you feel alive. I passed my bike test when I was 25 and had all the confidence in the world. When I found out I was pregnant with my daughter I stopped for 22 years and got back on a bike 3 years ago. All the confidence I had before was gone. I bought a 125 a learned again. Even though the controls and what to came back instantly, I was rubbish and scared to death to begin with and because I had to think about what I was doing it felt rushed. The only solution was to keep doing it until it clicked again. I not sure I would have had the courage to do what you’re doing now, I didn’t have to put myself through the stress of a test when I started again. Good luck with your CBT. You will smash it.

@@mototripperuk You have aleady probably done this. but if you have a private road or car park. Go through the controls and let her get a feel of the clutch biting point. If you are going to be using the Monkey for the CBT lesson. Get her to keep siiting on the bike and lifting it off the side stand to get comfoatable with doing that and also get the feel of the weight of the bike. Not that it is a heavy bike, but feeling confdent doing that to start with will be a great help. I think the Monkey bike is the best first bike, because of it's weight and size. Some of the other 125's can feel quite big and quite heavy. Good luck!
