Zebra pleco breeding behaviour captured in my tank
In the wild, these fish spawn in the warm rainy season. This is usually between July and September. Raise the temperature of the water to around 82 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, infuse some oxygen into the water with an air stone and pump and more water change will help them breeding captive too. zebra As per most pleco, the male will trap the female into a cave where she will lay her eggs for the male to fertilise this is usually done at around a pH of 6.5-7.2 and a water temp of 27°

Nice ones, but I will never ever keep them with a guppy. You will ask why I guess, well because guppy is the most common fish species who has internal parasites. Worms just love them.

The parents were around 3.5 years old . My mate breed them at 2.5 years old so your not fare off Mybe any time soon good luck 🤞

I have waited almost 4 to 5 years to get them in . I had the big ones from 3cm almost took me 2 years to be at this size . So long waiting not to worry u will get there good luck 🤞
So how do you get yours to come out during the day for feeding? Mine refuse to come out during the day (light on), so I'm forced to feed them at night.
I feed them during days with lights on . Once the lights on they know is feeding time so they come out to eat
@@zebraplecofans So I came home and checked on my L236's have 5 of them. I noticed one was in his cave fanning. I grabbed a flashlight and looked in and to my surprise, eggs! I've bred bristlenose plecos but not L236. Could use some direction if you have experience breeding these guys.

so it's been about a year since you posted this, I'm just curious if you confirmed any were female/male, and any spawning taking place at all?
Yes 6 females rest are male I had 1 spawning
@@zebraplecofans that is fantastic! Usually, the percentage of sexes is reversed. Can you share how you accomplished this? I have bought adults and juveniles, and put almost 8 years into trying to breed them, with no success.

I'd have thought females had the larger pelvic fins like Cory catfish because the larger pelvic fins are used to hold egg's.
