Been daily driving my 2006 celica GT (uk) for the last 13 years and I still love to drive it! As you correctly said it just makes you smile and is a pleasure to drive, its such an under the radar car and especially with my model people dont realise that it is essentially a vtec type r equivalent - hitting 'lift' puts an even bigger smile on your face too!! Celica's are a great driving, practical and reliable sports car for not much money , especially with the ridiculously high car prices of today 👍

Fantastic review 10/10. I wasn't too sure about this car cause I prefer the challenge of driving with and against bigger cars. But after this, I'm definitely gonna give the car a spin. I also loved the live showcase race and commentary. 👍 Follow up: Enjoyed the car, but it ended up leading me to the 02 version, which I enjoyed a lot more.

I have a 192hp GT, it whips along and sticks to the road so, so good.

How much simpler is the aero on those cars? because ive seen that they can follow eachother really well, but the slipstream is less effective, but overall better racing. nice video mate!

3:35 oh come on. I'm almost 2m height and it is perfect for me. I still have space like 2-3 fingers to the rooftop. Only thing is that my version is without the sunroof so I saved a few more space for my head. Anyway, if you're tall, DEFFINITELY RECOMMEND Gen7 Celica just if you're looking for a small economic coupe for 2 with a huge amount of space in your trunk. Ye, the trunk is much bigger than any sedan or even some wagon that's I know :) At Christmas I transported a 2.2m christmas tree and had space for two more trees and it easily fit 80x 1l Coke bottles for a wedding ;D

Brilliant review! I always regret not buying one when i had the chance back in 2005. I ended up with a mk3 mazda mx5 a few years later which was a hoot... but then i became boring and have a 1.0 Skoda now... living the dream 😢

I’ve had my 2004 Celica for 15 years now and I’m still loving it. Great to drive daily to commute. Like you it always brings a smile to my face when driving. It’s starting to show her age a bit now so am thinking of a respray and treat it to a new set of alloys as I cannot bare to part with it .

Paid a grand for a 2000 gts guy never knew the car would turn on you can imagine how happy i was to hear the 2zz engine still turn on still drive it to this day its too much fun

I made a lot of money off of my Celica gts probably one of the best daily driver car I had . Drove it to work for 5 years never had any issues accept changing a battery eventually the hubs started to crack my biggest mistake after all the money I saved from driving that car was to buy a bmw haha the bmw costed me so much within 3 years after owning it for 6 years . Yeah I should have had kept the Celica but the state I was living in at the time were starting to have a Yamaha motor problem they said they were going to make the engine illegal same with the 3sgte and sr20 so that was my reason of selling it .

if that one has the same 2zz ge as my corrola, who cares what its like to "daily". it stopped being a car of note with that ff eccno model. No, not watchin the video. That craplica made me give up on that name, just like toyota did.

Had my GTS (2zz-ge) since 2007. One of the best decisions I have ever made. All I have done to my 2000 GTS is change the lift bolts and put the MWR oil pump on it. When I bought it, it had 83k miles on it and I have put it at 322k. I'd say the 5 grand I paid for it was worth it.

You can get close on the sim. Now imagine being in the real F1 car. your neck wouldn't even hold up. Now imagine doing it on live tv, in front of all the crowds, in your last flying run of Q3, knowing you are down after sector 1 and 2, and still delivering pole. My point? No, you cannot even come close to Max's lap.

The way those guys could just tip-toe around and powerslide in those cars at speed was truly amazing. Those over-neutral handling characteristics were always present in the cars, and just imagine how it was in the wet.

After 2 years of ownership and you still find it exciting to drive says a lot about the car, great review 😎😎👏👏

Nice video here. Glad you've enjoyed the car, ive had my 190 for about 7 years and whilst its one of the slower cars I've owned, its definitely bot a fake sports car. Far nore enjoyable than my 280 ps Impreza because the driving feel and position is just so much more exciting for me.

Just got a 2005 GT with only 80K miles. A much nicer looking car than my old Chevy Malibu. Looking forward to upgrading the suspension (it's a little shaky) but other than that, the car feels clean.

I've owned 5 now. They're very rattly in the back and it gets annoying. Other than that spot on. Very reliable

"Fake sports car?" The Celica has been going before you were born. It is a mixture of practicality with sporty performance. The 2ZZ engine (which Lotus use) at 190 BHP can keep up and even embarrass many sports cars twice the power through country roads.

Brilliant Celica mate! I bought my 01' GT-S (Auto, I'm a yank) last year pretty much exactly like yours. She was resprayed, but the front end is all peppered with rock chips. I've replaced the headlights with halo LED/HID ones, done new tires/wheels, lowered on Tein Flex Z's and several other mods. REALLY envious of your side skirts though. Only thing keeping me from doing that is the cost and time of having fiberglass pieces like that painted. They look MUCH better. I did do a cheap splitter on the front as well as order a carbon fiber JDM hood scoop and a TRD carbon fiber style wing from the UK. Painted the entire engine bay plastics and valve cover to match my red as well. Did you have any issue with the leather seats being slippery? Was a huge issue in my and I solved it by getting lambskin seat covers and putting slipmats under them. Fantastic car. Hope you love it.
